Tiger Woods' alleged 'No.1 mistress' Rachel Uchitel has admitted having an affair with married actor David Boreanaz.

The New York club hostess, 34, claimed she had a 'romantic relationship' with the former Buffy, The Vampire Slayer actor, but she had recently broken it off.

Uchitel's decision to speak out comes a week after Boreanaz went public with his infidelity to his wife of nine years, Jaime Bergman.

  

In a statement issued to America's Us Weekly magazine, Uchitel's lawyer Gloria Allred said: '(Rachel) understood that he was unhappy in his marriage and had been for some time and she had reason to believe that he intended to separate from his wife.

'He treated her as his girlfriend and also took her out in public. He called her between takes when he was taping his television show and put her on the telephone with his friends and his son.

'He even stayed with Ms. Uchitel when he came to New York for press tours...

'Their relationship ended because Ms. Uchitel decided to break it off. She felt that he had not been completely truthful with her and she no longer trusted him.'



Last week, the 40-year-old actor told rival magazine People that an unnamed mistress was threatening to reveal their affair to the media.

The actor, who played good vampire Angel in the Buffy TV show and its spin-off Angel, admitted he had been 'irresponsible'.

He told People: 'Our marriage has been tainted with my infidelities. I just want to be open and honest. I was irresponsible.'

Boreanaz added: 'I was associated with a woman who I was involved with and had a relationship with.
'She asked for money. I felt as though I was being blackmailed or there was some sort of extortion.'

With the truth out in the open, Boreanaz is hoping his wife will forgive him so they can move on with their marriage.

He explained: 'We're working on our marriage. We're working on repairing what has been damaged so badly.'
 

Boreanaz and Bergman were originally set to wed on 11 September 2001 but postponed their marriage until 11 days later after the terror attacks in New York and Washington D.C.

Boreanaz and former Playboy Playmate Bergman, 34, have a son Jaden, eight, and daughter Bardot, eight months.

Their whirlwind marriage came just seven months after they met at a Valentine's Day party at Hugh Hefner's Playboy mansion.

Boreanaz was previously married to social worker Ingrid Quinn for two years before divorcing in 1999.
There have been reports Uchitel was paid anything between $3million to $10million by Woods to keep quiet over their alleged six month affair.

Although she hired Allred just days after the affair story broke, she has never spoken publicly about the golfer.

Uchitel was widely reported to be the reason behind Woods's argument with wife Elin Nordegren, shortly before his car accident near the couple's Florida home on November 27 last year.

Two days previously, Uchitel had been named as Wood's mistress in American tabloid The National Enquirer.
