Those apparently were only four of "many" reasons why they are shutting it down. I call bullshit - if there were so many things that meant the shut down of the blog then they mus have had several people scouring threads for weeks. Compared to recent events, ie. amazon.com, I believe the developments that lead to the proboards account being shut down only started within the last few days.

During the 2008 U.S. election (when Obama was elected), that woman came
forward claiming that a black man had held her down and carved a "B" for
"Barack" into her face. It only took a few hours for the media to pick
up on this story, run with it, and then realize that the "B" was
backwards, and was probably put there by the woman herself using a
mirror. Eventually she did confess to this being the case. A truly heartwarming story of race, stupidity, and democracy!!

So what is the next step? Do we continue to do as we were doing, or do we step it up a notch? I really wish I didn't have such a tough class load this semester. I want to do more Creative Writing/Fan Fic, but it will be hard to find the time atm.
I will be doing more photoshop though. Please send me any ideas you may have that you want me to get to and I will do my best. I am a total rookie with P.S., but it ain't hard to get the idea across...

I dunno. Now that the "Oh no you didn't!!!" moment has passed in my head, my thought is that living well is the best revenge. I say we carry on as before. At least here.
I think it is necessary to get the word out about this new site, they are asking for an update at FTBG. It may turn out that we ome out of this stronger...and more popular....than ever.
That being said, the ONLY thing that ever makes me uncomfortable on this board is when someone wishes ill on George. And no, I have NEVER reported a post, just saying they make me uncomfortable. Poke fun, show his lies, show his incompetence, but don't cross that admittedly unclear line.
Here's the deal; IWC is seen as one of the more "gentle" detractor sites. If ewe make this a welcoming place, the numbers will grow. George is helping us along the way every time he posts something silly on his NaB. The more his sycophants complain about us on their sites (not specifically, just using the term "detractors" even) the more curious people get to check out this site.
Think about it....the numbers are on our side now. Check out Amazon. I would bet that most of the people posting negative comments there about George's work are not members or regular visitors at any detractor site. When they get pissed enough, they will start checking out those sites, this being one of them. This being maybe the "kindest" detractor site.
I'm REALLY not comfortable with what goes on at some other sites, but this one appealed to me in part because the people were so level headed in their "detraction". My thought is that we should keep it that way. Beat 'em with facts and humor.
Just my thoughts.

Yeah, wishing the man harm does seem rather counter-productive, as I assume most of us still want to see the remainder of the series written.
Granted, I don't think it will happen, and Martin's health is still an issue, but I don't wish him ill. I just wish he would wake up and smell the coffee. Or the Gatorade (or good 'ol H2O), something drinkable that doesn't increase his weight or cause cancer or cardio-vascular problems.

I joined up too late for the previous board but wanted to give my 2 cents about the announcements over on NAB.
I found on amazon that at least AGOT will be re-released on audio cd's. This time they're like $30 not $200+.

New post of at NAB. Hopefully Martin is just giving us a lame joke, but he says that another author is halfway done with his book might finish it before he finishes Dance. Also, glad to know that he isn't waisting time by putting up rediculous posts about Zombies in Space on his page :)
