Hello from South NJ
Hey Mike...
Nice to see a reply..I was beginning to think I was the only registered user on the forum....hehehe.
Anyway that is great about the 150...Where do I start?
Well, I would say the best bang for your buck would be to upgrade your drivetrain.
The one notorious problem with all (china) buggies is the auto choke mechanism on the carb...stays open and robs power, but wont open when cold starting like it is supposed to. So a manual choke is reccommended.
In the CVT you have:
Clutch, bell, variator, variator weights, and an engagement spring(belt too, of course).
I reccommend a Koso clutch and bell(or just a drilled and slotted bell)
Dr. Pulley variator w/10g SLIDER WEIGHTS...this is very important to improving torque
a 3000rpm engagement spring
Also, either a Supertrapp muffler or a Blade Eastside Pipe..with a new jet in the carb...I would start at .125 if you are at sea level. Go up or down from there by reading your plugs...
A clean, high flow air filter (K&N) is also reccommended...although the UNI filetrs tend to blow rings..I know from experience.
Then you can move on to CDI upgrade, A12 cam, even a crankshaft...there is A LOT you can do with these buggies.
I live in NJ and I have an ENTIRE brand new 150cc parts lot on Craig's List. If you need some parts and want to save some cash...I have it all done for you...just a thought..I wasn't on here trying to pimp my stuff out...so take a lok if you like.
Other than that...feel free to ask any questions you may have...I learned pretty much all there is to know about my FX150...and all the 150 buggies for that matter...
Now I need to learn about my new 250....
enjoy!!
