In the 70s, an inquisitive young boy called Paddy Maguire was continually playing around with the variety of musical instruments laying around the family home, and soon getting a tune out of them. In 2010, guitarist/vocalist Maguire's musical journey of exploration and endeavour has put him among the cream of the latest generation of artists reshaping and re- energising the blues and creating music that, at its best, is as exciting, as soulful and as moving as you’ll find anywhere.

"Pipeliner with Eyeliner" is the collaboration of two extremely talented artists. Country/Blues singer/songwriter Casey Pappan from Edmond, OK, and guitarist/singer/songwriter John Trallo originally from Philadelphia, PA, now of Sonestown, PA. Their sound is a very cool mix of R&B, Country, & Blues. Casey Pappan's soulful and powerful voice and John Trallo's eclectic guitar style are a perfect match.

Kathryn Keats is a soulful singer and prolific songwriter who is re-emerging in the entertainment world after 20 years of anonymity in the Victim Witness Assistance Program.

In 1990, Keats earned a Bay Area Critics' Circle Award for her performance in 'Curse of the Werewolf.' Unfortunately, it would be her last public performance for two decades, after her former collaborator, plagued by schizophrenia threatened her life relentlessly.

The terrifying experience culminated in a precedent-setting jury trial in Oakland, California, in which the abuser was ordered held in a mental hospital temporarily. At the urging of law officials, Munger changed her name and put her promising show business career on hold until 2005, when she learned that her abuser had passed.

Keats’ harrowing story, first told in Reader’s Digest in 2007, is now being developed as a concert musical and a book.

Her heroic journey from captivity to freedom has inspired audiences in Europe and the United States. She is a frequent keynote speaker and guest artist at community outreach events that raise awareness about mental illness, drug abuse, domestic violence and abuse.

Keats has been involved in music since the age of five, working as a teenager with such legends as Tennessee Ernie Ford, Loretta Lynn and Word Baker. She studied at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (CCM). Early in her career, she performed at Carnegie Hall and toured the country with a successful off-Broadway show.

Keats marks her return, playing such well-known venues as the Knitting Factory in Los Angeles, the Bitter End in New York and the Empire Plush Room in San Francisco.

In 2007, she recorded a full-length CD, After the Silence, introducing her music and her amazing story to the public. She is currently writing and recording a CD with Multi-Platinum award winning producer Narada Michael Walden. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Shannon McNally got her first guitar and JJ Cale album at the age of 12 and never looked back. Combined with the classic rock she grew up listening to – The Allman Brothers, Dr. John and Hendrix – it’s the musical center of gravity she brought to her 2002 Capitol Records debut “Jukebox Sparrow,” gaining notice from Rolling Stone, The New York Times, Leno and Letterman.

This decidedly rare approach for a woman drew the same accolades for indie-based Geronimo, helmed by Charlie Sexton. Now, on the self-produced Coldwater, McNally leads her Mississippi-based band, Hot Sauce through the juncture where country and soul music meet – made all the more powerful by the keys of the late, great Jim Dickinson (his last recording.)

McNally sings her sly, sultry originals with a voice that combines the ache and silver of Emmylou Harris with the delivery of realists like Townes Van Zandt or Gillian Welch, especially on a raw take of Waylon Jennings’ “Lonesome Ornery and Mean”— underscored by the guitar tones of Eric Eaton, a disciple of RL Burnside and Junior Kimbrough.

The New York Times says she’s “irresistible,” and American Songwriter praises Coldwater with, “Willfully loose, swampy country-soul tracks, her sensual, humid singing smack-dab in the middle.”

In June, Coldwater was featured in indie record stores as part of CIMS (Coalition of Independent Music Stores) Americana Listening Booth program. McNally and Hot Sauce taped a recent performance at New York’s WFUV, airing on “Sunday Breakfast” in August.

They are touring through the south in June, and heading west in the summer -- including dates in Texas, Colorado and more. Hot Sauce features Eric Deaton on guitar, Jacob X. Fussell on bass and Wallace Lester on drums

Sacramento-based vocalist/saxophonist Ava Lemert delivers the same expressive and

passionate tones on her saxophones as well as with her singing voice.

Her sax playing exudes a lyrical, elegant quality, somewhere between Paul Desmond and

Ben Webster, just as her vocals reflect Ava’s admiration for Sarah Vaughan and

Gladys Knight.

Ava’s compositions fuse elements of soul-jazz, funk, blues, and Latin styles in arrange-

ments for both vocals and instrumentals. Ava Lemert is an expressive vocalist, passionate

saxophonist & soulful songstress.

Danny Cuitar Rogers at the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame

Dan Guitar Rogers was born on January 4, 1971 in Blue Island, IL. The ultimate blues fan has become the ultimate guitar player through his musical addiction.

Says Bill Lordan (formerly Robin Trowers drummer), “Dan has a gutsy raw guitar style with a classic blues/rock tone and plays from the heart. Not a lot of fancy runs but you can feel his passion and power coming through his hands from his soul. He has been influenced from great blues and rock players.”

The joy of playing the Blues, meeting musical icons, and watching them perform continues for him as he approaches his 40th birthday. Danny Guitar Rogers can be contacted on “MYSPACE” at: myspace.com/thegangsterofluv

In Bootsy's own words:

I was born in Cincinnati Ohio, where I became a staff musician at King Records by the time I was 15. I then toured the world with Hank Ballard, & Marva Whitney, before joining the hardest working man in show business Mr. James Brown.

I then went on to play with George Clinton, Parliament Funkadelic, P-Funk and also fronted my own band named: Bootsy's Rubber Band. I then met Bill Laswell, and recorded with lots of Artist like Herbie Hancock, Keith Richards, Cyndie Lauper, Ice Cube, Africa Bambaataa, and then out of the clear blue, I recieved a video in the mail in 1991 and it was from a guy with a Bucket on his head who called himself BucketHead, so I said alright the LSD is kicking back in on me so I'm going all the way with it.

I told the total psycho to come on in and we recorded his first Album called: BucketHeadLand, that was my first studio and the first time I felt like I was in the woods with a serial killer. Right after that Dee-lite sends me a Boot-signal in the sky and I answered, then we recorded: "Groove is in the Heart" Those were some of my best times in life other than traveling across country in a station wagon full of Funkadelic's and Lady Freaks wanting to ride along just for the funk of it.

And yeah, we got plenty funked up! I hooked up with Snoop Dogg, the Chilli Pepper's, Phil Ramone, Eddie Krammer, Buddy Miles, you name um, but Then a Little space & time passed and all of a suddent I was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1997.

I Got my first Grammy in 2002 with my friend "FatBoySlim" (Weapon of Choice) I Peed on Myself, now I have an upcoming album release entitled "Z-CLass" for 2009, teaming back up with BucketHead again to take back the special needs of people that like to funk with there hands full.

Also the "Fallen Soldiers Memorial CD to be released on Nov. 9th 2008 with Artist like Charlie Daniels and George Duke we pay tribute to the young Ladies & Men that has died in this crazy war, so we say thank you all for the ulti-mid sacrifice.

Why we don't want to Sweat but we love to Save a dollar, and then ship um off to Go spill some Blood, to find the pot of Gold that don't exsist, well yall, it's easy for the Paper Backs, to send the Hard Backs in to do the un-think-able.

Brian Culbertson New CD called: "Bringing Back the FUNK" is a must have for EW&F and Bootsy Funkateer's, this record is out Now.

Driving Wheel was formed in 2007 by Ryan Tomlinson and Jeremy Hunsaker, who shared a love for blues and gritty, boozy rock and roll.

Playing festivals, fairs, bars, clubs, basketball courts and anywhere else they could find an electrical outlet, the band honed their craft as most all bands do; by playing as much, as often and as loudly as possible.

The first record was recorded live at various shows between July and October of 2007, released in December of 2007; the record is now out-of-print, and will not be re-issued.

Ryan and Jeremy have also played many acoustic shows as a duo, expressing a different aspect of their songwriting and their varied influences; ranging from Delta-style Blues, British Invasion Rock n‟ Roll, Sun Records, the “Alternative Explosion” of the 90s, Stax/Volt Soul, so-called “Outlaw Country,” Psychedelic, and any and all points in between.

Due to having such a diversified collection of musical influences, the assimilated vision of their music incorporates elements of all types of American Music. During live performances, the band effortlessly moves from hard blues to expansive, improvisational jams to straight-up rock and roll with a touch of twang.

Recording on the band‟s first studio album Better Late Than Never (2010) commenced in June of 2009.

Recorded during breaks between the band‟s live shows at various studios, living rooms, basements, rehearsal halls, sound checks, and concerts throughout the latter part of 2009 and early 2010, the record showcases a raw, embryonic stage of the band‟s songwriting and performing.

Featuring all original songs written by Ryan and Jeremy, the record was mixed and mastered by Andy DeRosa of Mojo Records, Ltd., and will be released in late Summer of 2010.

The Steepwater Band formed in Chicago in 1998 ignited by a passion for the city's electric blues. The power trio who quickly progressed from covering Robert Johnson, Muddy Waters and John Lee Hooker to writing compelling originals has crafted a rock n' roll sound all their own. For over a decade the band has gigged relentlessly, performing nearly 125 shows per year and bringing their songbook of gritty English-blues, soulful boogie, and Delta-psychedelia to audiences across the States and abroad.

The creative energy of the band's live shows has earned them a loyal fan base and critical acclaim. Jeff Massey performs with a passion that can belie his virtuosity. His masterful guitar work, often featuring slide, has won the respect of many modern guitar luminaries. The rhythm section's rock-solid interplay provides a foundation which liberates Massey's lead work: Joe Winters swings beats with total command of his ferocity while Tod Bowers rolls out bass lines with loose-boogie sensibility and a knack for carrying the melody. Years of musical collaboration allow the band to play together tautly without sacrificing spontaneity.

The Steepwater Band has released four full-length records, and each album has garnered substantial radio airplay across the Midwest, including on Chicago's influential WXRT. Their songs have been placed in network television shows, a major motion picture, and a 3 year national ad campaign that debuted during the World Series. They have shared the stage with acts as diverse as Buddy Guy, Wilco, Gov't Mule, ZZ Top, Cheap Trick, Taj Mahal, Bon Jovi, Bad Company, Drive-By Truckers, and Heart. In 2005, the band made its European debut at the Azkena Rock Festival in Spain, and returned to Europe the following four years for club-and-festival tours.

It was a serendipitous meeting at a Black Crowes concert that brought friends Winters and Bowers together with Massey. A decade later in May ‘08, the trio found themselves in California recording with Grammy winner Marc Ford as producer, the musician widely regarded as  the Black Crowes' finest guitarist and integral to their prime years. The band met Ford while sharing a bill at a festival in Spain in the summer of '07. A friendship was forged when they invited Ford to sit in on Neil Young's "Cortez the Killer.” Ford expressed interest in collaborating with the band shortly after producing the first two critically acclaimed albums from artist Ryan Bingham.

The 2008 LP  ‘Grace and Melody’ was recorded in just nine days at the organic Compound Studios in Long Beach, California. With Ford's direction, the band dug deeper into the grit of their past records while exploring new influences that gave the record a fresh sound. From the top-down catchiness of "Lord Knows," to the extended guitar jam of "Waiting To Be Offended," to the hypnotic bounce of "Healer" and Lennonesque strum of "One Way Ride," this album runs the gamut of rock n’ roll roots with progressive style.

Taking what they learned from the ‘Grace’ sessions they entered the studio two years later and recorded quite possibly their most well-penned tune to date.  Songwriting has long been a strength for The Steepwater Band, but it has never been more palpable than on the single THE STARS LOOK GOOD TONIGHT.

Tahni Handal is an Austin-based musician, so it comes as no surprise that she's difficult to pigeon-hole. Sometimes acoustic and introspective, sometimes rocking and angry, her music is emotionally driven and spiritually fueled, qualities that shine through in her hauntingly open vocal delivery.

Tahni has a way of questioning her faith without ever doubting it; she fully EXPECTS to be answered. This is a
woman who expects a lot of herself and of life, and she inspires the listener to do the same.

“Ben Bullington's work draws life-breath from the earth, rivers, sky and people of Montana,” says Rodney Crowell, the Nashville songwriting legend who plays guitar and performs a duet on Bullington’s latest CD, White Sulphur Springs. “In the same way Guy Clark's jeweler's vision captures the eloquent essence of Texas culture without being regional, Ben frames the stillness of Montana winters, the strength of her women and the spiritual bankruptcy of no-account politicians with disarming ease. Plus, the guy's a pretty damn good doctor for a songwriter.”

Steven Cristo has entertained the blues/rock arena for 3 decades. He was exposed to a variety of music at a young age.

After playing and writing for several Boston area bands in the 1980's Steve started writing and co producing for many professionals in the industry.

While playing Blues events and small clubs with his band "Cristo and Company "Steven also shared the stage with several Blues and Rock greats across the nation.

He was noticed for his performance skills and guitar chops at this time. He released his first solo album in 1993 and his North east cult following was born.

After a tour and recording spree in 1997 he released his second album "Cristo and Company". In Manila Philippines receiving air play and media hype made possible by by Marian Garcia, Ray Lajoie, and reps from Alpha Records/PI.

After one more tour to Thailand Steve bought a small recording set up in Central Florida Where he writes and produces today.

Alannah Myles was born in Toronto, Canada listening to FM radio stations that introduced her to an international compilation of music.

She was raised in the city of Toronto where she studied to become a graphic artist, splitting her time on her family's ranch in Buckhorn, Ontario where she rode horses and spent her early years competing as an equestrian on the Ontario A Circuit, competing in Canada's prestigious Royal Winter Fair prior to deciding that she would make music her calling.

She acted in TV commercials and modeled to pay for the early demo tapes in attempts to get a record deal. Though she did in fact come from a wealthy family, she opted for independence after family attempts to see her married to live in boyfriend, Christpher Ward were refuted. Alannah was and will always be married to her music.

Her first self titled album (1989) produced four Top 40 hits, “Love Is”, “Lover of Mine”, and “Still Got This Thing”, as well as the number one international smash, “Black Velvet”, which she won a Grammy award for best female rock performance, along with several Juno Awards, a Diamond award for sales in excess of 1,000,000 in Canada - the only artist who still retains this status for her debut record.

ASCAP awarded the song a 'Millionaire Award' in 2005 for over 4 million radio plays of “Black Velvet” in the USA. SOCAN awarded the songs, “Black Velvet” and “Lover Of Mine” each with an award for over 100,000 plays in Canada in 2005 with her #1 hit song “Instead Of  A Kiss” to follow.

Joe Gorfinkle

Rank #15USLos Angeles, CABlues / Alt.Country / Americana

Summarizing Joe is not easy. “Raw and rootsy…Joe’s music is the real deal” is the way studio bassist and friend Lee Sklar sums it up.
In terms of style, Joe's music covers a lot of territory. As an accomplished guitar player, harmonica player and a breathtaking slide player(botttleneck, lap style and a little Pedal Steel) as well as a singer and songwriter, he has a broad vocabulary. His life and musical career has been a path less traveled sometimes difficult and indirect path, but always aimed at music, leading him to become the writer, musician, and artist he is today. He has distilled it into a style that is authentic and to the point. His songs combine humor, stark cynicism and genuine compassion for the real people he sings about.
Joe's songs and onstage humor tell stories that affect the spiritual perceptions of listeners and expose the fragility of humankind with a grin. They are dark, funny and expose his world in the stark light of honesty, but there is often a payoff at the end. Musically rooted in the blues, country and R&B he grew up hearing, Joe has his own sound and style regardless of genre- whether he is playing a solo gig or with a band. His music really tells the story, listen and find out.

Since the age of fourteen, like all great musicians, Billy has striven for development of his style and virtuosity, which has resulted in being poised to explode onto the world stage from his well established west coast environs.

Having opened to serious accolades for the likes of Pat Travers, Jason Bonham, Yngwie Malmsteen, Gary Hoey, L.A. Guns, and Quiet Riot, Billy’s commitment to songwriting and playing leave the listener begging for more.

He creates with his high-end tonalities and intricate arpeggiating spread across the canvas. All the while, he clearly states that musicality is more important than speed. Beyond proficient, Billy is in the small world of the elite guitarist, most definitely a gift to our ears.

This brief overview may not convince you, but Billy’s playing certainly will! Please take the time to explore “the hand that rocks the guitar,” the wonderfully creative world of the edgy Billy Connally!

am a Blues guitar player and vocalist, carrying on the deep Chicago Blues style and creating original music today. From 1973-1980, I played guitar in the band of Chicago Blues legend Muddy Waters, touring worldwide and recording, and learning to play Muddy's powerful music directly from him.

From fresh interpretations of jazz standards, to lyrically evocative originals, New York City based guitarist Rick Stone is an artist with a clear musical vision. His fluid, full-bodied sound pays homage to the great jazz guitar masters of the past while maintaining a personal style with a contemporary edge.

Rick's latest release "Samba de Novembro" showcases his guitar in a variety of solo, duo, trio and quartet settings along with long-time associates Tardo Hammer (piano) and Yosuke Inoue (bass), and special guest Matt Wilson (drums). Writes Jim Carlton in Just Jazz Guitar "His lyrical lines and imaginative ideas on a mix of originals and hip standards reflect his maturity as an interpreter of great tunes and his mastery as an artistically adept player. His tone is bright and crisp, some would say traditional, and his ideas are fresh."

Dave Weld born in Chicago, he was first influenced as a child when he found an old Victrola in the basement and wore out the blues 78's. He moved to New Mexico, and studied guitar under Kurt Black, a jazz player who worked with Benny Carter, Grant in the NY jazz scene. Dave also met and jammed with Gatemouth Brown. Weld drawn back to Chicago after hearing Howlin Wolf on the radio and found that he was welcome on the West side of Chicago (black hood). He started sitting in at clubs and landed a gig with Hound Dog Taylor's band, Brewer Phillips,Ted Harvey, at Sweet Peas on 43rd St. Philips and Harvey had been working with JB Hutto after Hound Dog's death, and came back to Chicago after breaking off with JB in Boston. Weld then moved on to the 1815 Club on W. Roosevelt, which was owned and operated by Eddie Shaw who had Howlin Wolf's band, the Wolf Pack. Dave stayed there and played in the band with Chico Chism, Lafayette Gilbert, Hubert Sumlin, Detroit Junior, and Eddie Shaw. Dave played with Otis Rush, Maxwell St. Jimmy, Guitar Junior, Jew Town Burks, Doug Macdonald, Boston Blackie, Tail Dragger, Little Wolf, Big Bad Ben, Little Aurthur, Johnny Littlejohn and more. During this time Weld was under tutelage from JB Hutto, a Grammy awarded Blues Hall of Fame slide man from Georgia. He studied at JB's house and met Lil' Ed, and they started the Blues Imperials". Bruce Igauer from Alligator recorded them in a historic session "Roughousin'" and they started world tours. Dave started "Dave Weld and the Imperial Flames" in 1988 and they came out with their first CD "Roughrockin' in Chicago", on Parsifal Records in Belgium, the second time they recorded for Earwig Music, "Keep on Walkin'", and the band again went overseas. The current band is Abb Locke, legndary sax man, Jeff Taylor, Monica (Garcia) Myhre and Dave Kaye who is now signed with Delmark Records with a new CD "Burnin Love".

Few up and coming young blues performers walk the walk to the degree of Chicago-based guitarist/bandleader JOE MOSS. One of the hardest-working performers on the Windy City circuit, Moss routinely works up to 28 gigs a month. His sound, a winning mix of blues and R&B flavors paired with original songwriting vision, can be heard blasting out of Chicago venues like Buddy Guy's Legends and House of Blues on a regular basis. His stinging guitar and accomplished vocal style have won him fans citywide. His debut CD "The Joe Moss Band" (212 Records) gives ample proof to the rest of the world of what Midwest blues fans have known for some time: JOE MOSS is for real.

A guitarist since the age of 15, Moss was given his passport into the blues world by Buddy Scott, who noticed Moss at a jam session at Rosa's Blues Lounge on Chicago's west side. Soon, Moss was playing seven nights a week as a member of Buddy's Rib Tip band. In 1992, Joe toured Spain with Buddy and also recorded "Bad Ave." with him as well. The record was released on Polygram's Verve Gitane Blues label. Moss' guitar skills quickly became notorious on the local scene and made him an in-demand sideman. He played countless gigs with nearly every bluesman and -woman in the city. Some of his past employers include Zora Young, Charles Wilson, Lil' Smokey Smothers, Syl Johnson, Big Time Sarah, Barkin' Bill Smith, Lefty Dizz, Magic Slim, A.C. Reed, Billy Branch, and Little Mack Simmons. Not merely a local hotshot, Joe has backed these artists in places like Canada, Turkey, Switzerland, Holland, Belgium, France, and Germany as well as in Chicago.

Not content to remain on the side, Joe felt the pull to be his own man and lead his own band. This desire led to the birth of both The Joe Moss Band and the CD of the same name. Moss is finally able to do things his way and express the music he has been writing. Original tunes like "Coldhearted," "Good Lovin' Groove," and "Jealous" are sure to win over fans of blues, blues/rock, and R&B. Not one to be media-shy, either, Joe has been featured in Gig Magazine, Vintage Guitar, Living Blues, the Chicago Tribune, the Kenosha News, and In The Mix Magazine. He has also received airplay on WLUP 97.9 FM, WXRT 93.1 FM, and WCBR 92.7 FM.

JOE MOSS is one representative of the future of the blues. Not just an imitator of the music's glorious past, he strives to find his own sound and material within the styles he chooses to play. His band features some of Chicago's finest blues musicians and Joe himself is a consistent and entertaining performer. Blues fans would be wise to check out JOE MOSS and his band as soon as they can. Any worries about this music surviving in the new millennium will surely be put to rest.

Genres include: Blues, Blues Rock, Jazz Blues, World Jazz Blues Fusion, Latin, Reggae, Rock Ballads and so on.

Chris began playing guitar at 5 yrs old when he first heard Manitas De Plata, who inspired in him a passion for guitar and a love of flamenco guitar. At age fourteen he developed a passion for blues and went on to gigs in London at venues like Ronnie Scotts with John Mayall, John McVie and George Melly.

As a young lead guitarist he also jammed/played with many of the R&B and rock legends of our time, including Rory Gallagher, Jimmy Paige, Ginger Baker, the late Paul Kossof, Captain Beefheart, Dick Stubbs (Juicy Lucy), Linda Lewis (Ferris Wheel), Dave Davies (The Kinks), Roy Wood (Wizard), Mickey Finn (T-Rex), Mark Knopfler, Led Zeppelin, Peter Green, Jeff Beck. Most unforgettably with the great blues legend Bukka White.

More recently Noel Redding (Jimi Hendrix Experience) and John Coughlan (Status Quo).

Artist bio:

I have been playing guitar, bass, singing, writing, and recording for 34 years. First playing rock music, with an independent release, as well as, a major label release. I was then introduced to the reggae festival scene in my home state of California (northern California that is) which was vibrant, exciting, and a breathe of fresh air. I was familiar with Bob Marley, and Peter Tosh, but I soon came to learn there were many great reggae artists from all around the world. My love affair with reggae had begun. I then began to listen and learn the true elements of roots reggae dedicating my life to this study in hope's of one-day getting the opportunity to play with some great reggae musician's. Which came to be, when I met and formed The Dreadnaught's (aTribute to roots reggae) with my musical soul-mate and keyboardist Dave "Captain Key's" Deveaux, playing reggae standards by Bob, Peter, Gregory, etc. With a few year's of giging and recording under our dreads, the time has come for an original CD, . We are proud to have Andrew Diamond (Prezident Brown & Andrew Diamond Band) playing drum's and percussion, Ray felix (BOOMshaka/touring bassist for Marcia Griffith's) on bass,l Binghi-man Cornwall ( Keyboardist for BOOMshaka) and many more talented musician's on the CD, which is now available on Itunes.Thank's to all those who made this album possible, most of all thank Jah!!!

Mary Washington Brooks- I have been singing for more than 25 years, I turned professional in college when I was in a band, the lead singer caught a cold and asked me to sing for the night, the club owner liked my singing so much at that time he told the leader of the group he wanted Me to sing vocals from that time on-I was fired and accused of stealing the gig by the group leade, the following week I was brought back by the club owner with my own group to sing the Blues/R-B/Jazz/county and has been signing ever since. " Blues without Walls is my fourth CD to date and one of my best efforts. I wrote all the songs with vocals and I sing all the songs I wrote on my cd" Rock Your World I wrote seven of those songs. My songs are from a womans point of view. The reason I wrote these songs is that when you here men singing they are always talking about a woman, so I just decide to even the playing field a little bit with songs especially written about how women think about men, and don't misunderstand me- I love men. Doug Ellman the lead guitarist and leader of The Beer Brothers Band co producer the "Blues without Walls" CD . Doug was in one of my early bands in the late eighties and early ninties he was talented and fun to work with then and even more talented and a lot of fun to work with on this CD. Jim Keegan and Ray Williams make up the Beer brothers band and are unbelievable musicians- All are gentlemen in every since of the word, during our recording of the CD they laughed and told me many stories of how the songs seem to apply directly to them on many instances in their lives, in fact they said they were still living some of the songs today. Motel Mel on keyboards/organ, Stueyblue on Saxophone and Gustavo Lexcano were my special invited guest musicians and unbelievably talented, they added their special touch to the music on " Blues without walls" CD. I believe that once you hit the play button for " Blues without Walls" you will hit the repeat button over and over again and laugh along with band over and over again.

RE:Blues, R&B, Soul Music on ReverbNation
(Date Posted:04/08/2014 5:22 PM)

I found my way to the Blues stage in 1969 at the first Ann Arbor Blues Fest, and was completely smitten. Getting to play at such an important milestone festival had my head spinning. That was my awakening to the Blues, and I couldn’t have been among a better line-up: Son House, Muddy Waters, BB King, Freddy King, Lightin’ Hopkins, and the list went on and on.

Solidified into the Detroit music scene, I found my calling, but it was to be a bit illusive, while I continued my music education over the years, I was also free to pursue another of my loves, acting, where I was able to snag two different life changing musical plays: Hair and Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band On The Road. Appearing in both of the Broadway productions, as well as a number of other run of the play casts. Having been in Hair afforded me the opportunity to land a recording contract with Motown Records, along with Meatloaf, to record the album Stoney And Meatloaf.

Right after the recording of the record, Stoney and Meatloaf, Motown moved out to Los Angeles taking me with them. After a short stay in LA, I got back in touch with Seger’s manager, Punch Andrews, and it just so happened, Bob was, again, looking for a singer. So I headed back to the music scene I was so familiar with, Detroit. Starting with the Recording of Katmandu, under the pseudonym, Stoney. I was in Detroit and, again, working with Bob and his band; The Borneo Band, along with some of the Silver Bullet boys, Chris Campbell, Alto Reed, and Drew Abbott, and throw in a couple of Tulsa boys: Jamie Oldaker and Dick Sims, along with my pal Marcy Levy. I did a couple of my own bands for a bit, then yet another call came in from Punch and I started working with Bob immediately on the road. By then, the Silver Bullet Band was pretty much intact and I’ve been touring with Bob constantly since 78.

When Bob Seger decided to take some time off the road, I was contacted again by my old friend, Marcy Levy, (of Leon Russell and Eric Clapton fame) that Eric Clapton was doing a record with Phil Collins producing, and would I be interested in coming to Montserrat to record the BGs on his ‘Behind The Sun’ album. The experience was thrilling; to get back to my roots, and with the ‘guitar god’ himself. I, of course, said yes! With the volcano steaming in the background, near the studio, worrisome to say the least, we recorded this great record, and after the second song, Eric asked us if we’d like to do the tour, well, you can only imagine the walking on air feeling I had. One of my extreme idols was going to be a band mate, too good to be true. To sit on and off stage for the next few tours and listen to the golden tones that came off his guitar was almost too much. Later there was even another, although short lived, tour in Canada. I will always be thankful for the experience, and the grace of Mr. Clapton.

Back on the road with Seger, with hardly a couple of weeks off from Clapton, with his 86 tour, I met up with Bill Payne and Fred Tackett, two of the members of the legendary band Little Feat. As tours go, making friends comes easy and when the tour was over, Bill Payne asked Bob and me to sing some things on their new re-grouped band’s CD, Let It Roll. As it happened, I had moved back out to LA, and when Feat recorded their next CD, Representing The Mambo, I was asked to come in for more backgrounds, as well as the next, Shake Me Up.

I went on to tour with Seger to the present, with some other tours here and there along the way, with such notables as Bruce Hornsby, Joe Walsh and Glenn Frey with Television appearances with John Hiatt and Herbie Hancock.
I found myself back in Feat camp after the singer, Craig Fuller, left the band in ‘92, and they asked me to join as a full member in 93’, which I did without a bat of an eye. Seeing all of my favorite genres, wrapped into one with these boys, I couldn’t have been happier, and for the next nearly 16 years, it was my home. Till recently parting with my long time cohorts, I then realized, I’d come full circle back to where I started, in the world of the Blues, wanting to take my place along side some of my favorite idols; Koko Taylor, Etta James, Big Mama Thornton, and Big Maybelle, paying special homage to Miss Taylor and Miss James on my first solo CD.

I came back the next year with a powerful new CD; Trouble With Lovin’. Combining a litany of Blue themes, as well as some notable friends stopping by to lend a gracious hand. None other than Mike Finnigan, (Phantom Blues Band, Taj Mahal, Steven Stills, etc…..) playing on the title track, Trouble With Lovin and playing and singing a duet on Hopelessly In Love With You. Johnny Neel (Allman Bros.) playing and singing on four tracks; Deservin Of Love, Blue Tears, Did You Call, and The Blues Don’t Tell It All. Not to be outdone, my good friend, Danny Pelfrey on alto sax on Deservin’ Of Love.

Nominated for Best New Artist by Bluesblast for my first CD, Livin The Blues, I carried the torch into a new year with a stunning second CD, Trouble With Lovin’.

Having come off a Bob Seger tour in the Spring of 2011, I felt that Detroit was where I’d set my sites for a third CD, along with a DVD, both ‘Live At Callahan’s’, one of Detroit’s premier Blues clubs, and snagged some of my favorite pals; Laura Creamer, Barbara Payton, and last, but not least: The Motor City Horns to fill out some fav’s and a bunch of new tunes!

RE:Blues, R&B, Soul Music on ReverbNation
(Date Posted:05/04/2014 4:18 PM)

"Andrea will get to your heart even if she sings in the middle of a boat in the sea. What she does has nothing to do with being in L.A., London, Paris or whatever. It has to do with artistic commitment and love for every note she sings, and that's how great artists act, don?t you think?" (IAC.com)

Born and raised in Salem, Oregon, singer/songwriter Andrea Miller's voice has been described as soulful, sensual, hypnotic and endearing. Influenced by Nancy Wilson, Sarah Vaughan, Eva Cassidy and Stevie Wonder, Andrea is currently heating up the Los Angeles music scene.

Recently, Andrea had the incredible honor to work with David Foster, Quincy Jones and Alan & Marilyn Bergman when recording the vocal demo for CELINE DION "I Knew I Loved You" at Foster's studio in Malibu. Originally trained in opera at a young age, Andrea won first place in the Oregon State Vocal Competition in the first soprano category when only 14 years old, singing Leonard Bernstein's complete work "I Hate Music". She then went on to earn a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theater Performance from the University of Southern California.

A member of SAG and ASCAP, Andrea now performs regularly throughout greater Los Angeles with her jazz quartet. Her performances have brought down the house and gained critical acclaim at venues such as The Paris Hotel in Las Vegas, The Pasadena Jazz Institute, Pelican Hill in Newport Coast, the Ritz Carlton Pasadena, The Four Seasons, Charlie O's, Regent Beverly Wilshire, Lunaria, Jax, Windows Of The World, 310 Lounge, Chaya Brasserie, The Smokehouse, Cafe Cordiale, Twin Palms, Highland Grounds, Club Lingerie, The Cat Club, The Opium Den, The Knitting Factory, The Zip Cafe, Bistango, Bobby London, Maggianos, Bellavino Wine Bar and others, accompanied by some of L.A.s best musicians. Andrea also sings in the bands, Present Tense, Gregg Young & The 2nd Street Band and Kaosz Theory.

We've been the 'Pacific Blues Band' since 2000 ..but we've always made music. Now we've gathered in the other side, the more acoustic side of what we've always done and become the Newton Family Blues too; We still play blues under this name ..but also some old folk numbers, some classic softies and some a cappella numbers too. With this line up we play blues venues in and around where we live in Northern Italy and we've also played in some pretty tiny venues; doesn't pay the bills of course but.. the smaller the club, the better the show seems to be received (0: Catch us if you can.

Allen grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area, and first started playing guitar at age 15. As a teen, Allen was greatly influenced by his musically talented family, which includes his uncle, Grammy winner, Gold album recipient and West Coast Blues Hall of Fame inductee (Guitarist) David "Dynamite" Vega of Graham Central Station fame. Soon Allen developed a powerful blues guitar style, and began appearing at Bay Area jam nights.
At age eighteen Allen joined his first professional band, Jack Rudy and The Blues Voodoo's playing throughout Northern California. They won the west coast "Best Unsigned Band" contest at JJ's Blues in Mountain View. Allen began making a name for himself within the local blues scene while with the Blues Voodoo's

In 1987 Allen formed Smokin' Gun, a powerful blues trio. Smokin' Gun went on to win BAM (Bay Area Music) Magazine's Battle of the Bands, being chosen over 50 other bands. This win led them to opening for such acts as Elvin Bishop, Joe Louis Walker, Edgar Winter, Leon Russell, Lowell Fulson, Lenny Williams, J.J. Malone, Cool Papa, and many others.
In 1993 Allen joined with Frankie Lee (a.k.a. Little Frankie Lee), a noted San Francisco Bay Area soul and blues artist on the road. As bandleader and music director for the Frankie Lee Band, he showed his capacity as he played his way criss-crossing the United States and Canada for five years. He not only showcased his powerful lead work, but he showed his sensitivity while backing a singer and provided leadership while maintaining a high standard of musicianship. Allen's powerful show openers and endless energy-packed finales caught the attention of many. His showmanship, stage presence, and his playing ability reflect the influences of Albert Collins, Albert King and Freddie King.
While with Frankie Lee, Vega shared the bill with such fabulous acts as Bobby "Blue" Bland, Etta James, Buddy Guy, Bobby Murray, Sonny Rhodes, Lucky Peterson, Luther Allison, Kenny Neil, Coco Montoya and many others. He played such venues as Antone's, House of Blues, Buddy Guy's Legends, Morganfield's, B.B. King's, and many many festivals, including the Monterey Bay Blues Festival and Portland's waterfront Blues festival performing for crowds of over 40,000 people.
In late 1997 Vega left the Frankie Lee Band to develop and present his own music as singer, songwriter and guitarist. Appearing at local Bay Area blues clubs. Allen was also regularly working and recording with Bay Area Blues Legend, J.J. Malone.
After touring for nearly ten years Allen settled in Livermore California with his wife to raise their family only performing at private events and local clubs.

For the past couple of years Allen has teamed up with BC Tolefree and has been tearing up the Blues scene performing at most of the major festivals and venues throughout California and even opening for the Legendary B.B. King at the Paramount Theater in Oakland, Ca Allen's passion for the blues proved too powerful for him to hold back. Recently Vega said good bye to BC and has formed a powerful cast of musicians portraying Allen's excitement for the blues, bringing back energy and tunes that have not been played for years. Allen has recently released a long awaited for album titled "Rough Cut" and once again will be expanding his playground to include the States, Canada, Europe and wherever Blues Festivals may lead him.

The Ori Naftaly Band is a Soul/Blues band based out of Memphis, TN. In a very short time this extremely talented band has gained international recognition and support by the international blues community and by an extended fan base, located in the USA, Holland, and all around the world. Within the course of two years The Ori Naftaly Band (ONB) has covered 30 states in the USA and toured Europe twice. The band won the Israeli Blues Challenge Competition, and was the first band ever to reach the Semi-Finals of the 2013 International Blues Competition (IBC) in Memphis, Tennessee where they sold the most CD’s of any band. The band has released two studio albums since its conception that have received positive critical acclaim. ONB is about to release a new single in August 2014 (recorded at Ardent Studios in Memphis, TN) and are currently working on their third new album.

Ori Naftaly – founder, producer, songwriter, and lead guitarist of the band – has been leading and managing the band since November 2011.

From the very beginning of its performing career and with the release of its first album, The Ori Naftaly Band has won awards which placed the band in the same category as some of the best known blues rock artists in the world, notably 'Best Blues Album in 2012' by Bluesmagazine.nl.

"Happy for Good" is the band's second album. It features a mix of styles including electric blues, funk, rock and soul. With the release of the album in May of 2013, The Ori Naftaly Band was immediately invited to the United States for a six-week tour to promote their new CD and to perform in many well-known venues throughout the country. Just one month after its release, the album reached number four in the International Blues Radio Airplay Charts, and maintained fourth place for three consecutive weeks. Since their return to USA in October 2013 the Band completed a 2013 Fall Tour, 2014 Spring Tour and 2014 Summer Tour. The Ori Naftaly Band has shared the stage with some of the best acts in the business like Tab Benoit, Ana Popovic, Bernard Allison, Shemekia Copeland, Royal Southern Brotherhood, Marcia Bell and many more.
