Chronicles of Mystery

by: City Interactive

Available:  Adventure Shop

The Scorpio Ritual

Sylvie Leroux, a young archaeologist, learns about a dark secret dating back to biblical times. Not hesitating for a moment, she decides to solve the intriguing puzzle.
The track leads to ancient ruins on Malta. Her private investigation reveals there is an influential organization that wants the secret to remain a secret.
Others want to lay their hands on the mysterious finding and will stop at nothing to achieve their goal.
In her search for the answers, Sylvie embarks on a perilous journey through the countries of the Mediterranean.
Chronicles Of Mystery is a classic point and click adventure game, where overheard conversations and gathered items become and important source of information.
The game requires fast thinking and impeccable logic.

The Tree of Life

For centuries people have risked their lives and committed unspeakable crimes to discover the secrets of The Tree of Life. Times have changed, but not human nature. As Sylvie Leroux - a young archaeologist and adventurer, working to solve the mystery that surrounds the legend, finds herself tempted by the same promises like so many others before her.

What is linking the mystery of the missing crew from the Mary Celeste with a trunk dating back to the conquistadors? Who is the enigmatic Count of St. Germain? In order to get answers to these and many more questions, Sylvie will set on an epic journey which will lead her across the channels of Venice to the dark alleys of Cairo, rocky coasts of Gibraltar and into the unknown

Has anyone played these? They both sound intriguing. Are they easy, medium, hard? Only for experienced adventurers or would they be good for a casual adventurer?

Hi Katy.

Yes I have both games.  The first one I got from Iwin.  I found it to be a fairly easy Adventure game.  I didn't have much trouble completing it only getting stuck a couple of times, but eventually working out what to do.

The second one, Tree of Life, I have a boxed copy.    I found it much more difficult and challenging. In fact, I used a walkthrough a lot for this one and never finished as I got stuck on a puzzle right at the very end!

They are both very good games,  if you like the Art of Murder games, you will also like these.

They are classic point and click, played in third person with a brave likeable heroine.  The stories are Archaeological/Mystical.

Most puzzles are inventory based, but there might be a slider or other type of puzzle thrown in there too.

There's a 3rd one out: The Legend of the Sacred Treasure, which I bought boxed a week or so ago from Morissons.
There's also a DS game: Curse of the Ancient Temple.

PR-  THe Legend of the Sacred Treasure is an IHOG.  Same as that AOM game.  I made a thread in the HOG section for it.  HERE

Let us know if you like it!  I am interested in these CIty Interactive HOGS!

I asked for Tree of Life for Christmas and my sister didn't buy it as she said it had bad reviews (I got Lost Horizon and Runaway 3 instead, so I'm happy!). I might wait until they have a sale and buy it then.

I bought the Scorpio Ritual from Steam on their Christmas sale -- very good price.  I've played about 2 hours and like it a lot.  It is the typical third person adventure point and click.  I would consider it a good starter for someone starting out with this type of game.  In my opinion it is easier than some of the others.

I just did the demo that BF had for the Tree of Life.  I really liked it also and will consider adding it to my library of "unplayed games" right now. smiley132

I got Scorpio Ritual at BFG and liked it.  The story was interesting, the tasks were fairly linear and not too boggling to figure out, some mini games in there.

Will be getting the Tree of Life one as well.
