Thanks All.  It is now clear to me.

Thank you. I hadn't been to that site before, but it looks like it's got some good RPGs I'll have to look at when I have some spare spending money.

GIs1stluv - They have the BEST rpg's that were ever made.  The really good ones had puzzles and sorcery and heroes and heroines and dungeon hack and slash and fighting that required thought not just clicking.

Enjoy.  They also have some of the older adventure games that are brilliant and long and have plots.

Interesting.  Doing it thatway would be ok by them.  I was wondering about buying the SE with a credit and upgrading with an additional $6.99.  Perhaps this would not be as ok by them??

Posted on 05/07/2011 17:27

Re Upgrade - I didn't know you could do that.  Great data.  Thank you OP.

Thanks PR.  Good games.

So sorry for your loss.

We grieve with you and send hugs

It's funny to hear people who weren't born when Star Wars came out.

I was not only born, I was working and dating and not young.

I still remember the thrill of the first star wars the first time I saw it.  Those days, as well, were before DVD's and videos actually, as I remember it.

May the 4th be with you.  Still giggling.

Unbelieveable.

Maybe it was a dare.

GOG has a new downloader and a few other fancy bits and is giving away Dragonshere a point and click adventure game

  • Excellent story breaks from the usual "kill the evil dragon and save the day" plot
  • A challenging adventure game that will captivate with clever puzzles and thrilling environments
  • Despite its age the game's graphics, music, and character animations remain appealing

Overview:

Newly-crowned King Of Callahach! It's been twenty years since your
father saved the world by entrapping the evil Sorcerer Sanwe. Now the
spell is waning. Sanwe's malevolent force will soon consume the land,
and only you can stop him. Will your quest be aided or subverted by
bizarre races like shapeshifting Slathans, the faery-like Brynn-Fann, or
the black-eyed Soptus Ecliptus?

Thanks Small.

It is good to know that the hype is deserved this time.

I was that way about the Groupon coupons.  Understood.

Posted on 05/05/2011 18:29

So - them that bought - what is the verdict?

Posted on 05/05/2011 18:25

I guess the thing to do might be to find out if your money has been refunded.  Maybe it hasn't and it is all good now.

Posted on 05/05/2011 15:33

If you have printed them can they take them away?  If they take them away, do they have to write to you to tell you?  Anyone know?

Certainly they can't take them away if you have spent them.

Genki, loved the last one.  Great pun.  Where did it come from?

Posted on 05/04/2011 23:28

This is a classic CRPG from the old days with slightly better graphics and a slightly more confusing skill system.

Otherwise the demo takes about 2 - 4 hours.  You get to a certain point in the story when the demo ends, not an arbitrary 1 hour.  I play with the sound off so I can't tell you about music.  There is no dialogue that is spoken, it is all written.

You get to explore and fight to your heart's content.  The developer always includes some dicey ethicial issues.  Your character can ge good bad evil ugly and any one of four different professions.

Anyone who wants a bit of a stretch beyond the Aveyond series but is not interested or ready in Dragon Age should take a look at the demo.

Thanks, OP, bucky, gove and TM.  Heaving a sigh of relief *whew*.

And, being caught up in the craziness as I am, I almost bought a time at a Dude Ranch for some astronomical price from Groupon.  That will teach me to be more careful (I hope).

I was clicking merrily away, and had a "Homer Simpson Duh" moment.  Wait, what, Dude Ranch?  Is that a Big Fish game?  Will I like it?

Luckily I found the "no, I'm an idiot, and don't pay any attention to me" button.

My computer:  My best friend and my worst enemy!

Sable, I needed a laugh today and I read your post and laughed out loud. Clicking away can get me into a wide variety of evils.

 Thank you!

You know, I have never bought a CE.  Never could see the value in one more chapter and never wanted the wallpaper.

I do agree about the number of games.  A year ago I would have already spent the 15 coupons by now.  I actually had 18 coupons - 3 from last month - and bought Dark Ritual, the latest Chronicles of Mystery, and .....the 13th skull.   Hadn't played it (obviously or I wouldn't have bought it now) and want to see what everyone complained about.

There are a couple I am waiting for the SE for but not many actually.  But the coupons, well, the coupons make me feel rich in gaming possibilities.
