Because my computer couldn't be counted on to do ANYTHING, I just assumed it was from my end the problems came. So, now don't get all riled up HA!, I'm GLAD Aimoo was having so much trouble. Not just because I could never let any of you know I was still in the land of the living, but that it wasn't another virus in my laptop.
I've never been on another forum except the BFG Swamp and this wonderful (until recently) place. So, if you know of something even better, that would really be a treat.
Thanks for the "emergency" link - just so I can know that everyone's OK. Oh, and to let you know when I'm in Angel Fire (hopefully before May).

I can't find the post about the forum change. Since I've written and sent 2 posts, I'm going for 3!
Does this mean we won't use Aimoo any more? Or are we hoping for a "new and improved" Aimoo?
I would love to help with copy and paste, and I do know quite a lot of other things that might help, but I can't count on being able to connect with this site. If there's anything I can do that will keep the frustration I've been having for weeks trying to use this site, I'll do it - whether the shrinks tell me to stay off the forum or not.
Once again, I'm going to post my email in Sisters since I can't even download my PMs any more. If someone could tell me where to look for the original info regarding this change, please email me there if you've answered me on the regular forum and haven't heard from me in 2 days. I promise you I'm here, and ready to go. I just would like to kno WHERE I'M GOING TO! HA!

Kitty, I'm so sorry your dad is still having trouble finding work. But I wanted to share something with you that might must give you a little "push" when you begin to think of giving up.
When time came to sign up for senior classes in high school, I signed up for chemistry. I needed it to get into college. However, my mother absolutely refused to sign the paperwork. She said that I was going to take stenogrophy and when I graduated, I would help send my BROTHER to college. This is the brother who wanted to do ANYTHING but go to school any longer than 12th grade.
The only thing I had ever wanted to do was teach, so I was devastated. I went to my pastor because I needed someone I trusted and who knew my parents to telk to. He spent weeks trying to get me a government grant, but my parents were far too wealthy for me to qualify for any of those. Then, he called a friend of his (who happened to be the president of the college I wanted to go to) and asked him if it was too late for an academic scholarship to be granted. I had a 4.0 average from first grade on, and I had one of the highest grades on the SAT.
I got the scholarship, but it only covered tuition, I had to pay for all the rest. I worked 30 hours a week, I took 24 SEMESTER hours every semester so I could graduate in 3 years. I got married the day after I graduated - but my doctor came alarmingly close to refusing to sign my health certificate. I was very close to anorexic because the last semester I had to choose between eating and buying books and paying fees. Thank goodness my DH visited every week-end and fed me as much as I could eat! I graduated Summa cum Laude, and I taught hight school and college for 23 years.
I didn't write this to brag on myself - far from it. I think this made me the strong and positive person I am now. I just wanted you to know that someone else has been in your shoes - and wore them out, but got what she wanted anyway. HA!
PS - She got her DH, too, which was better than the diploma. HA!

I don't believe it - IM CONNECTED!!!! I've been able to use the computer for over a week now, but it simply WOULD NOT CONNECT TO AIMOO. I let it sit for an hour one day to see if it was just slow, but it still didn't connect.
I can't connect to the BT or Sisters, though I know the new passwords from reading your PMs. BTW I still can't answer PMs, but I also CAN'T READ THEM! So, please don't think I'm rebuffing you if you don't get an answer.
I've read a few posts about a new forum, but I don't know anything about it. Please tell Khat that when my computer crashed I lost her email, so I haven't been able to contact her at all for over a week. I would appreaciate it if she would post mine in Sisters, and maybe if enough of you answer and I can connect again, you can explain to me what's happening. The cat in me is driving me crazy! HA!
I don't know if there's any chance this will get to the posting part of all of this, but I do hope so much that it does.
BTW - I'm getting a little better. They have changed my meds AGAIN and this time I think I can feel a difference, and DH is sure of it. We'll be leaving for Angel Fire after April 27 - the last time I have to see my shrinks before they release me to go. Believe me, I'm going to be the happiest (sad) person that day they've ever seen! HA!
Hope to be able to read some posts before I get kicked off this time. Love to you all, and I can't wait to get back to normal - at least here. HA!

I don't know if this will get to you since every time I try to send anything I get a screen telling me that the aimoo server is not serving. HA!
Anyway, I finally got my laptop running again. There's a lot more to the story, but I don't want to put it here in case this doesn't go through. I'll keep trying. OH, and I STILL can't answer my PMs, and now I can't even READ them. What gives with aimoo?

Well, the second half of the software I need to cure my laptop of the terrible virus/Trojan it somehow succumbed to arrived today. That means, I will start the surgery required to bring the poor thing back to life tonight by backing up what I have in case of a disaster. Isn't that wonderful? If you kill your computer while it's in surgery you can bring it back to the life it had before the surgery started? HA!
Tomorrow will start the "wipe" which will COMPLETELY erase my hard drive - and I mean COMPLETELY. My brother tells me it takes about 18 to 20 hours to do because it reformats the drive 128 times.
Then, the next day, the really tricky stuff starts. I'll use the disc I got from Toshiba which is supposed to bring the computer back to the way it was when I got my new hard drive installed a little more than a year ago. Not only will I have the OS, but there were SO MANY cool programs FREE with the computer. I plan to keep some of the ones I thought I didn't want and uninstalled a year ago.
I'm going to lose so many applications that I love, but I'll give them up in order to be able to DOWNLOAD, UPDATE, and other MINOR things like that.
First thing I'll do is check in here and see what's been going on. Now, don't do ALL the fun things while I'm gone. Save a few for me to get in on. HA!

gove, do I understand correctly that you feel the same way I do about them? Or am I not giving them a chance? I could TRY to play one of the later ones FOR AN HOUR to see if they've improved anything. But really, I DON'T WANT TO. However, I will bow to your advice - should I try again or would I be wasting my time?

OK, now that everything is clear as mud(rock), I'll just have to take Panda's advice and believe that is just wasn't that wonderful. I had a really bad feeling that the reason it disappeared had something to do with the "Drac 3" debacle that practically did me in here for about a week.
Those of you who didn't know me then DO NOT WANT TO READ MY POSTS from that time. I'm really ashamed of some of them, but not ashamed enough to DELETE them. HA!

Have any of the D/E clubbers who recently bought "Scratches" ready to do even a mini-review? I'm itching to know more about this game... especially since it's been somewhat controversial.
Anyone?
Pretty please?

essie, I bought Scratches when it was first mentioned on Khat's old forum at the Swamp. Some liked it, some didn't. But, because I LIKE having the s__t scared out of me every time I open a door, I LOVED IT. It's a different game - or at least it was then. A lot of later D&E games "borrowed" some of the effects used in this one, but the game as a whole is really fun to play - in a nice, sunlit room with Mozart in the background, that is. HA!

OK, I'm going to reveal my ignorance one more time. What does "HdO" mean - other than the fact that I haven't found one yet that I liked? The screens are always so grainy and shadowed/sunbeamed, that the HO scenes make me go blind. I've gotten to the point that when the big screen comes up announcing "HdO", I've got my mouse ready for the "Exit" button without even looking at the first screen.

Oh, Panda, you don't have any idea how much I needed to read this tonight. I think the gods made it happen just for me . . . Now that didn't come out just right, but you know what I mean. Hope your bruises fade soon.

You all KNOW I'm not trying to excuse BFG, but is it possible that between the time Mudrock is told to announce the game, and the time it was supposed to appear, they found a glitch and decided to delay the "grand opening" until they could fix it? Just thinking . . . NOT a good thing for me to do on shrink visitation day. HA!

I downloaded this game to try it out sometime in December. I played it (apparently) about 20 minutes. I just finished out the hour, and decided it was interesting enough to buy for $5. When I tried to buy it I was informed that it was not abailable for sale. It's not in the alphabetical listing of BF games.
Anybody have any ideas what happened to this game? Why did it disappear? Did anyone buy it before its demise? What a mystery - I guess this is one way to drum up sales for a game that can't be bought. HA!

Me, too, Cuddles. If someone could tell me what the goal of the game is, it would really help. I have an idea that I would like the game if only I knew what I was doing.
I feel like I'm back in Madam Fate - where they didn't give you a CLUE what you were supposed to do in the puzzle. I played the original one, BTW, and made it ALL THE WAY THROUGH - playing 8 hours a day for 3 weeks. HA!
