Awakened picks up the House of Night series where Burned left off. Zoey and Stark are still on the Isle of Skye recovering, and their friends are back at the House of Night in Tulsa. Neferet is still evil and Kalona has is by her side at the beginning of the book. As the story moves on lines will be crossed and friendships will be tested. Will Zoey and Stark return to confront Neferet and Kalona? What will happen to the red fledglings? What about Raphaim? Questions will be answered and more will be asked in the 8th installment of the House of Night series.
Book Synopsis: Exonerated by the Vampyre High Council and returned to her position of High Priestess at Tulsa’s House of Night, Neferet has sworn vengeance on Zoey. Dominion over Kalona is only one of the weapons she plans to use against Z. But Zoey has found sanctuary on the Isle of Skye and is being groomed by Queen Sgiach to take over for her there. Being queen would be cool, wouldn’t it? Why should she return to Tulsa? After losing her human consort, Heath, she will never be the same – and her relationship with her super-hot warrior, Stark, may never be the same either.
And what about Stevie Rae and Rephaim? The Raven Mocker refuses to be used against Stevie Rae, but what choice does he have when no one in the entire world, including Zoey, would be okay with their relationship? Does be betray his father or his heart?
In the puls-pounding eighth book in the bestselling House of Night series, how far will the bonds of friendship stretch and how strong are the ties that bind one girl’s heart?
Other comments: (here are some ideas--use or don't--but please add anything you think is of importance to convey your love or disappointment for the book)
1)Would you recommend this book to others? If so, why? If not, why?
2)What were the high points of the book? (i.e., the author's style of writing; the imaginative images invoked; the escapism the book afforded; the realism and everyday-ness that people can identify with, etc.)
You find out what happens with Rephaim and Stevie Rae, and Zoey begins to heal.
3) Was the story engrossing? Did you want to keep reading page after page after page to see what would happen next?
It took two days to read only because I had to clean, take care of my family, and sleep.
4) What were the things you liked most or least in the book?
I liked where things went with Stark and Zoey, but not what Kalona discovered.
5) Would you read another book by this author?
