Sam & Max: The Devil's Playhouse (Season 3)
Episode 1: The Penal Zone Episode 2: The Tomb of Sammun-Mak Episode 3: They Stole Max's Brain Episode 4: Beyond the Alley of the Dolls Episode 5: The City That Dares Not Sleep Unfortunately, TellTale does not give a description for each episode of the third season, so I'll fill in the storyline a bit.
In the first episode, a purple gorilla from outer space lands in New York, looking for a special toy. The same toy, though is found by Max - who discovers he has psychic abilites with which he can use the toy and various others.
The second episode takes Sam and Max back in time, into four rolls of film that tell the last adventure of their ancestors (whose skeletons they've found in the basement with the films). Sammeth and Maximus have brought the Devil's Toybox for Egypt to New York.
In the third episode, Sam discoveres that Max's brain has been stolen from his body and his trail leads to the Museum of Unnatural History where General Skun'kape (aforementioned purple gorilla) and the mysterious Monsieur Paperweight (who has been seen in the second episode) fight over the Toybox and have Max's brain in a glass. And that's only half the story.
The fourth episode begs a question: who has created all those Sam clones out there who are looking for the toys?
In episode five, Sam fights a dangerous battle against no other than Max - who has been transformed into a huge monster by the essence of an Elder God. Can Sam get Max back or will this be the end of the Freelance Police?
All seasons of Sam & Max are funny in a strange, dark humoured way. But especially the last season has rather unusual parts (such as not playing the adventure from beginning to end in episode 2, but exchanging the reels to use information already given), the long row of questionings at the beginning of the third episode or the use of the toys to transport, transform and do other things. You can demo the games, so you don't have to buy them blind.
