Bright Blessings MoheJohe and welcome to the CWC.
I think things are slowing down just about everywhere and I can say this much- I too have gotten just a little behind with responses and emails. Sooner or later I am going to have to compose some kind of spell or ritual or something regarding a humble plea for a little extra time to be able to do things and catch up hehehe.

Good morning and hello to all! I just found this forum and am so looking forward to getting to know all of you and to getting back to practicing once again. It's been a few years. I am a Solitary in the Faery Tradition. I allowed my faith to be shaken and lost my way. I've known in my heart for a while now that I needed to come back, and I'm hoping that I can do that through this group. Blessed Be Maggie

I had company there for only a moment- so I was shortly detoured:
Maggie You are very welcome Sweetie.
Have no worries Hun- finding one's way back has always been an easy going process. The Heavenly Host knows that we venture off every now and then in search of different ideals but the one thing we can always count on as well as be happy with is that they come looking for us with love and concern and when they find us- they hold us in their arms and tell us how much they missed us as well as how happy they are to have us back with them.
We never face repremand- we're never "grounded" as it were. We find uplifting and a wonderful sense of having learned new things during our explorations. As I see it- if we weren't meant to learn new things- we wouldn't have come to the point where we are now.
Try to look at your ventures as having gained wisdom and insight that will be beneficial to you come future days. I do so all of the time. I didn't have much if any Spiritual influence until I was well into my late 20s and what Spiritual paths I did follow entailed Norse Paganism then Angelic- then Straight Laced Christian there for a little while and soon enough I was called to the Heavenly Host's family of Christian Witches.
A lot of life experiences in just a very short period of time but the insight I've gained over the years has been very beneficial and my experiences more than helpful. Everyone learns things in different ways and it's perfectly normal. :-)
Missy.

Spirituality is something of an adventure too if we look at it in all of the right ways and what could be better than going on a really awesome adventure sometimes? Nothing else that I could think of hehehehehe.

Please welcome our youngest witch to God's CW Family!
(Date Posted:09-17-2010 12:42 PM)
I have some really great news for everyone!
My 10 year old son has officially joined God's Family of Christian Witches as of yesterday (Thursday- the 16th)!
For quite the while he had been somewhat interested in being a CW and just last night he performed his first spell with momma's help!
My poor sweet little guy had been having problems with a school-mate who had been terrorising him on his way home from school and this school-mate had also been recruiting people he knows to help him with his ongoing intensions of malice.
I had taken it upon myself to start showing up to the school to walk home with him sos' he would find comfort and resolve to his issues and on his way home- my son asked me if we could do something together to finally find justice and conclusion. So- we banded together in my bed-room and stood at my little altar and we did a binding together in hopes to banish and exile the negativity from little man's life of light and structure.
He was quick to catch on and he did a fabulous job also. I am one very proud momma!

You are most definitely right Maggie.
Little man had fun helping with house cleansing and blessing this recent weekend also. He followed me around with our little incense cauldron that contained frank-incense and he did a wonderful job of prayer casting.
In looking back at a funny moment this last weekend too:
For some reason- we haven't been able to find my house keys. We had spent a good part of Saturday looking through everything in the house and un-covering every corner too and they just would so not show up. Well- little man went down stairs to our basement to look through the washer and the dryer just for safer measures and while he was down there we could hear him prayer casting- It went a little something like this:
" In the name of God and the Holy Ghost! Let my momma's keys show up! " and he just kept casting hehehehe. I was sitting on the floor in our dining room nearest the air vent listening to him as he went on and on and my ear started to get very warm hehehehehe. We've got one very strong and powerful energied little guy!
I am just so happy that my kiddles love their momma as much as they do and I am so grateful for all of the will and support that my 10 year old has been lending during the smallest of trials and tribulations as well hehehehehe.
He's going to be a really great CW as he gets older and his future is so very promising too. I hold hopes too- that he will want to continue on the CW path- he's an awesome little magi.

Re:New Member Welcome Center
(Date Posted:10-19-2010 4:38 AM)
Good morning, lovely people! :) Thank you for the welcome, Missy!
As I do not wish to use my real name right now, you may call me
kindlethestars, starkindler, any variant of that which you wish... :) My username was inspired by Varda (Elentári, Elbereth, amongst other names) - one of the Valar from J.R.R. Tolkien's world. Some of the meanings behind her name include star kindler, queen of the stars, etc. and after a week of trying to think of a suitable username I was inspired to base my username off of that. I'll warn you now that I'm usually a lurker, unless I have questions.
I'm
in my late 20's and from a strict Christian background. I've grown
increasingly dissatisfied with mainstream fundamentalist Christianity -
I'm not willing to turn my back on Christ, but I am so tired of the
unkindness, political "encouragements", hatred and judmentalism, etc.
that I see in Christianity as I know it now. I feel like there is so
much more to it (life, relationship with God, etc.) than this. It was
only just within the past two or three months that I was introduced to
the concept of Christian Witchcraft, and for the first few days I was
intrigued, then scared and went running away screaming from it, but in the past month I have found myself drawn back to it. Through my many google searches I found the MysticWicks
message board and after finding that I was hoping to find a message
board specifically for Christian Witches, only to find a link here
within the next day or so through either a link on a post or a signature
at MW. So, that's how I found this place! You seem like lovely people.
:)
I'm feeling overwhelmed by my questions about (Christian)
witchcraft, but until I can sort my thoughts out perhaps you can help me
with the more practical questions I have about the forum - would anyone
know who sings the "A New Day" and " Road To Heaven" songs in the mixpod above? I can't find any songs by those names on iTunes that sound the same.
Some of the other songs I recognize from Celtic Woman, but I know that
these two aren't by them. Also, is there a block on changing your
profile avatar until after you've been a member for some time? I've
tried to upload my own avatar but it doesn't change, even if I try
changing my browser. Also, what exactly are the groups?
Well, I think that's more than enough for now. I look forward to getting to know you! :)

Re:New Member Welcome Center
(Date Posted:10-19-2010 7:12 PM)
It's perfectly normal to use an ID instead of one's full name more often than not.
Missy is a nick name that a lot of my friends practically all over the place like to use more commonly than not for reasoning my real name is a bit longer. After we all started getting to know each other a little better and have become more like a family- I began throwing the name Missy into the ring so that everyone could know me on a little more personal level. I get along with just about everyone hehehehe.
Lurking: Hun- you wouldn't be the first to lurk the halls of the CWC. We have some lurking family members out there and those who come by when they want to check up on us and see how things are swimming along so to speak. Every now and then I will probably become fairly famous for sending out little emails here and there letting folks know how much we love them and would enjoy their company when they have the opportunity. I may run around once a month with that hehehehe.
Avatar changes on aimoo and site functions here at the CWC: Aimoo has a tendency to act rather silly at times and since they had re-done several of their pages- I've noticed a few small problems here and there. Now I've never really seen any issues with avatar changes as I change my pictures every now and then just for fun or just because I'm bored hehehehe- and it's never given me anything to be concerned about that I know of but I will say this much- if you are having concerns and or issues with changing pictures or avatars and or other things- I would make it a point to get in touch with the aimoo help forum: http://help.aimoo.com/.
If it's one thing I do know- is that the aimoo help forum is quite helpful. Every now and then folks have misc. problems with different things like setting their locations on the map find app- profile malfunctions and other things. The help Forum is a really great place to find answers and folks respond quite swiftly.
The CWC Groups. The groups here are fun little places designed to take on very specific topics and ideals and they are also here to help people who are looking for insight- might have questions or problems with certain magical areas and more. When creating the Community back in februrary and when we were on ning.com- I spent a lot of time frequenting several other places online taking notes and keeping to heart some of the ideals and areas in which people looked to find the most help and as I went along- the groups began to gain in number. There have been a few group inspirations that have come from our loved family members right here at the CWC.
One can pretty much go any direction and or make suggestions for new groups or new site pages with in the Forum and folks are more than welcome to create groups of their own in the CWC Groups Section also. We welcome any and all to come and be part of the family and we strongly encourage folks to expand their horizons as well as find a tremendous amount of room to spread their wings and fly.
There is no judgment here- no prejudice- no bias and I believe that when I wrote the rules back in February- such points came across fairly well. Now I won't say that I haven't faced a rather large number of unpleasant emails from those who have taken a bit of an unpleasant attitude towards the Christo Craft beyond having encountered the CWC with out joining us- because I have- but if it's one thing that I have come to know over the years and during what ever I've explored with careful thought and attention towards- is that:
The more one is educated about the various practices- faiths- beliefs and other Spiritual ideals in which we all recognize exist- the more we understand and the more we grow as individual people. Just as we are meant to from my point of view. Learning and growing from what we learn is essential to life and the more we utilize these would be essentials- the easier life becomes for us. Another thing I like to throw into the ring as well- is that of: " Everyone's paths are different- no one path in particular is the sole and only right path and- God / What ever deity people follow- assigns each of us our own unique mission which aligns with our own unique state of being as a person." No worries here Hun hehehehe.
We have all been given the privelige of seeing that there is a special and beneficial path in our walks with the Hosts of Heaven. As I like to commonly say- we are their special forces team and we complete special missions- we see the things that others refuse to see- we hear the things that others refuse to hear- we acknowledge the existance of the things that others would just as soon deny and the list goes on. God and Heaven's truths are out there- we know them- we see them and we hear them- we acknowledge their existances and we heartfelt lovingly carry out our missions as we follow the paths in which we were assigned.
On a shorter note- it's ok to be both intrigued and just a hair bit afraid of whether or not you should take Heaven's offer to become a CW. I did the same thing there for a little while myself and then the more I thought about the experiences I had with other practices- I began to realize just exactly how much I understand- what I know myself to be capable of- how much I missed my old pagan days and ways and more- it pretty much dawned on me that somewhere along the line- God too was trying to tell me something and such message being that of: " There is more to following my path than what you have been led to believe by those who would detour you from the full truth."
Suffice it to say Hun- there is more than just a straight laced following. More often than not as I see it- straight-lace-ism is just a complete fear of going full on into both the truth and the real path all the while having to get a little dirty somewhere along the way too. This is just my view on it though.
In the mean time though- I am very glad that you found us Hun and I will say too that you are more than welcomed to wander about- take in the sights and when you come across something of interest- feel free to just jump right in- have a suggestion for another group or forum idea? Drop by- speak up or just put it right out there- I'm more than happy to put up new things and I encourage others to do the same. You're going to have lots of fun here- that I can promise.
Missy.

Re:New Member Welcome Center
(Date Posted:10-20-2010 5:24 AM)
Thanks again for the welcome Missy! Thank you for the advice on contacting the Aimoo help forum for the avatar. I'm not used to message board companies that actually listen to their customers! I wasn't sure if it was them or if the board had a policy about not letting you add your own avatar until you've been around for a while. (I've been on boards like that before.) I'm also having a hard time with my location and getting the correct time to show up so I'll definitely be contacting them sometime this week. So, basically a rather than being like a "club" (like I first thought they were) a group is a topic that stays on a single subject - but kind of like chapters in a recipe book? (I'm tired tonight, and that's the best I could come up with.) If I could make one suggestion now, it might be to create a FAQ page (perhaps in the rules category) explaining things like where to find the introductions post and what the groups are. They were two things that I found either hard to find or unclear what they were for. And now I'm going to do a bit of quoting from your post. :) It's going to be a little out of order, but I felt I needed to do that for clarity. The more one is educated about the various practices- faiths- beliefs and other Spiritual ideals in which we all recognize exist- the more we understand and the more we grow as individual people. Just as we are meant to from my point of view.
there is more than just a straight laced following. More often than not as I see it- straight-lace-ism is just a complete fear of going full on into both the truth and the real path...
I began to realize just exactly how much I understand- what I know myself to be capable of...

God and Heaven's truths are out there- we know them- we see them and we hear them- we acknowledge their existances and we heartfelt lovingly carry out our missions as we follow the paths in which we were assigned. I agree. Learning helps you to grow, and that is the way it is meant to be. And what you said about "I began to realize just exactly how much I understand- what I know myself to be capable of..." That is how I've begun to feel since I "came back". I am starting to feel that it's okay to see, hear, acknowledge the things that others refuse. I'm glad I found you too! I'll definitely be looking around soaking up everything.. learning all I can. ;)

(Date Posted:10-20-2010 1:22 PM)
You're very welcome Hun and I do have to say this much-
I'm definitely not the only inspiring soul here at the CWC. We have lots of really great members here who have some really great ideas- talents and skills and I am sure that somewhere along the line- each one has experienced the same thing that you have.
My summaries and thoughts are merely my own but it's the experiences that I've had with being a CW that really show me all of the things that I've known in my heart for a while now- that not only do I need to know and recognize- but also the things that God wants me to do individually when called to duty. Since I've been fairly good at having revelations every now and then- hehehehe- such might just be the point he's been trying to make for so long hehehehe. Don't be surprised when I mention individual revelations once in a while- I do it a lot and on a fairly recent scale hehehe. Any-Hue: We all may have individual missions here and there and every now and then- but we all- also have something in common- We're CWs. We're the special forces team with special ops so to speak but we're also a really great family and from what I've heard time and again- we're a pretty good sized family hehehehe. CWs are everywhere- God has just been taking his time with calling all of us to come together.
FAQs: I think what I can do in light of the Forum FAQ is put up a post in the CWC groups area that way folks will be able to understand what the groups are for. You would be right about having things set a little like a cook-book and being able to find things a little bit easier. I stayed as attentive as I could to details when taking notes from different places online.
Groups: During my visits to other online places- I had come to find that a lot of folks were having a difficult time every now and then with going to forums or other groups here and there to find answers to questions or to respond to certain subjects. It seemed to take them quite a bit to find said topics or subjects for reasoning that they were all just scattered every which direction and looked less than organized- so as I went along with creation of the CWC- I figured I would line everything up and make it easy to find. Since a lot of folks also find comfort and mass connections with group settings- it was also easy to just add the word "group" at the end.
Not to single out any types in particular here- but kind of using it as an example: Take for instance our Broom Closet Group:
Broom Closetry is a pretty big subject with many for reasoning that we all face our unfair share of unruliness the moment we disclose our true paths to others of the populous and or our family members- putting things as lightly as possible here- but- having a special spot somewhere to talk about how one feels about such and finding similarity with others helps to ease un-easiness as well as helps folks find peace and less complicated resolves to their every day problems. Every now and then it helps to add support natured areas in Forums and or Communities and keeping them lined up and well organized helps folks find what what they're looking for.
Other topics can kind of float around at random and in just about any section when we visit other places- but it's nice to have them located somewhere that is both easy and fun to find- Like Tarot- Psychic and Paranormal- Chakra and more. We all have subjects that we're curious about and or that we might need a bit of help with.
Prayers and Prayer Requests- I just have to say that they are so beneficial. They express God's need for Unity and strength among his loved people. Standing together arm in arm and supporting one another is so very important. It's kind of like the ever popular: " No One gets left behind" thing. That's just how I feel about it- plus I've kind of been a people type person most of my life too- I refuse to leave folks behind and I am more than happy to do what I can to lend my love and strength to those who need it more than I do.
I've seen a lot of forums where Topics are either scattered every which direction or there are several posts on one particular topic that begin to adapt a rather redundant state of being. I would say that anywhere between 8 and 10 posts on one subject is rather redundant- Oye Vey hehehehe. That's why it's good to have things located in one spot- not only can one find the subject they're looking for- but they can also follow it with relative ease. Security measures play a small part as well.
There is always someone somewhere who will come along some day and look to become a real stinker about certain subjects and or the Christo Craft in general- any and all posts that said stinkers would look to add to conversations can be easily found and dealt with- same with the stinker themselves.
With being both the owner and administrator of the forum- I have to say that just the mere thought of chasing unruly people all over the Forum tends to strike something of a cord with me so if anything- even though I wish every now and then that I had a little more control over the set up of the Forum itself- I am glad in some ways that aimoo.com has some fairly easy features to work with and that their forum options are fairly well organized.
I just wish we all had a little more control over the profile and avatar features. It's just so not like ning.com- we had everything when we were on ning.

Re:New Member Welcome Center

I'm another new member here. My name is Sabine and I'm a wife, a mom (of 2, plus the dog), and a writer. I've been working my way toward this path for a couple of years. Well, actually for a lot longer than that in some ways. I've more or less always been a Christian Existentialist, even before I knew it had a name. Living fully, living passionately in a relationship with God was always the idea - even though I know I don't live it every day. But a couple of years ago, I read "Dance of the Dissident Daughter" by Sue Monk Kidd. It talks about her own journey from fundamentalism to a bigger understanding of women and Christianity, and I took off from there. I had a real connection with the Divine Feminine/Holy Spirit. I've studied several of the strictly Pagan paths, but they were all wrong for me because my faith in God is foundational.
It took me some time to come around to the idea that what I really wanted was this blended path of Christian faith and "pagan" practice. I say "pagan" in quotes because the idea of using spells and prayers and correspondences doesn't feel as if it's outside my faith.
I'm studying practical/kitchen/cottage magic. For now, I grow and use herbs for both culinary and medicinal purposes, and I follow the Wheel of the Year as well as the Christian holidays.
