The Lord Will Not Forsake You

Psalm 27:10

10. When my father and my mother forsake me, the the Lord will take me up.

On June 17, 2018 is the day that has been set aside for people to celebrate their fathers.  In 1955 my biological father was killed in a car accident, and at that time I was only 9 years-old. So my memories are those of a child.  I have always wonder if he had not died, how would have he said or done in my life to shape the person that I might have become.  My mother did remarry and then I had a step-dad that got the responsibility in trying to form me as a child to becoming a adult. Now he did his best but I always had this thing in the back of my mind, in how would my biological dad do to form my life towards adulthood.  He was a farmer, where my step dad was a music teacher.  Although I tried to please him in his field of work, I just could not get the hang of music. By the grace of God he didn't seem to mind that I just couldn't develop a thing for music.  What he did was support me in what I attempted to achieve in life.  But he also passed away many moons ago.

Unfortunate there are children who had a dad that abused them, or just disappeared before they were born. So their memories are not good or pleasant to deal with. So they have trouble in dealing with father's day.

Ephesians 6:4

4. And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.

As a young child I didn't get what my biological dad's beliefs were.  I do remember that we did go to church but I do not remember him talking about the Lord.  That was left up to my mother.  As for my step-dad, I did get know about the Lord.  Besides being a music teacher in the school system he was a choir director in church.  Unfortunate it was until much later in my life that we did sit down and discuss the Lord.

But what about those children that their dad's did provoke them to wrath.  Who alien themselves to the thief?  For by doing so they let the thief steal their childhood and destroyed a life that could have been rewarding?

John 6:45

45. A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good: an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.

For us that had dads that spoke good, it gave us a chance to have a good life, all we had to do was to listen.  We had a choice to listen and follow, but if we didn't then it falls on us.  Where the children that had a dad that spoke evil and did evil to them just didn't have much of a chance. Because all they can remember is the evil that their earthly dad did unto them.

We do have a loving Father, and He is located in Heaven. All we have to do is ask for Him to come into our lives and He will gladly come into our lives.  And for us that did have good dads, but didn't listen, we can ask for forgiveness and He will gladly forgive us. For those children that were raised with a evil dad, can ask the Lord to come into their lives, to give them comfort and a peace in the hearts, knowing that they to have a loving father.

John 6:47-49

47. Whosoever cometh to me, and heareth my sayings, and doeth them, I will shew you to whom his is like:
48. He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock.
49. But he that heareth, and doeth not, is like a man that without a foundation built an house upon the earth; against which the stream did beat vehemently, and immediately it fell: and the ruin of that house was great.

For those that had dads that listened to the thief, the foundation were built on the earth. So they didn't know what a loving father is suppose to be.

We all have the opportunity of building a house with a foundation on a rock. With the knowledge that regardless of life has or is throwing at us, we cannot be shaken.  For we know that we have a loving Father, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

So when Father's Day comes we need to thank our Father in Heaven for giving us a good earthly father.  And for those that had a evil father, need to thank the Father in Heaven for coming into our lives so we know what a true Father is suppose to be.  A Father that will help us built a foundation on a rock that will not be shaken, but will give us eternal Life. And will let us have:

Have a good day,
Have a good day,
John T. Begin
