    Isaiah 26:3-4 NASB

    3. The Steadfast of mind You will keep in perfect peace,
    Because he trust in You.
    4. Trust in the Lord forever,
For in God the Lord, we have an everlasting Rock.

When we start our day, we do not know what it will bring us.  So we need to say a prayer before we start out asking the Lord for His perfect peace, so we can handle what might be thrown at us in the World.

    James 1:6-8 NASB

    6. But he must ask in faith without any doubting, for the one who doubts is like the surf of the sea, driven and tossed by the wind.
    7. For that man ought not to expect that he will receive anything from the Lord,
    8. being a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.

So we must say that morning prayer with out any doubts of any kind.  We need to understand that the Lord is our Rock, and He will not let us down.  So we will not be like "the surf of the sea, driven and tossed by the wind." So we need to have full trust in the Lord.

So to have a good day, we need to stay in God's Protecting Hands, without doubting but believing through faith that what ever happens during the day, it will not affect us from having a good day.

    God Bless,

    Have a good day,

  • Topic Step Two 04/19/2018 08:43 AM

    Step Two

Came to believe that a power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity.

    Philippians 2:13 Amp. Bible

    13. For it is [not your strength, but it is] God who is effectively at work in you, both to will and to work [that is, strengthening, energizing, and creating in you the longing and the ability, to fulfill your purpose] for His good pleasure.

In Step One we admitted that we are powerless.  So now it is time to find a power greater than ourselves.  A power that can restore us to sanity. Because it isn't our strength but Christ strength.

    John 15:5 Amp. Bible

    5. I am the Vine; you are the branches. The one who remains in Me and I in him bears much fruit, for [otherwise] apart from Me [that is, cut off from vital union with Me] you can do nothing.

We have tried to stop by using our own will but found out that it came a vain attempts in so doing.

    Matthew 14:22-32 Amp. Bible

    22. Immediately He directed the disciples to get into the boat and go ahead of Him to the other side [of the Sea of Galilee], while He sent the crowds away.
    23. After He had dismissed the crowds, He went up on the mountain by Himself to pray, When it was evening, He was there alone.
    24. But the boat [by this time] was already a long distance from land, tossed and battered by the waves; for the wind was against them.
    25. And in the fourth watch of the night (3:00-6:00 a.m.) Jesus came to them, walking on the sea.
    26. When the disciples saw Him walking on the sea, they were terrified, and said, "It is a ghost! And they cried out in fear.
    27. But immediately He spoke to them, saying, "Take courage, it is I! Do not be afraid!"
    28. Peter replied to Him, "Lord, if it is [really] You, command me to come to You on the water."
    29. He said, "Come!" So Perter got out of the boat, and walked on the water and came toward Jesus.
    30. But when he saw [the effects of] the wind, he was frightened, and he began to sink, and he cried out, "Lord, save me!"
    31. Immediately Jesus extended His hand and caught him, saying to him, "O you of little faith, why did you doubt?"
    32. And when they got into the boat, the wind ceased.

When we start our recovery there will be times that we will be tempted.  And it will be during that time that we will be tempted and it will be a time that our faith will be tested.  And it is during that time that we should not doubt but continue to have faith in Christ that He will get us through it.

    Matthew 17:20 Amp. Bible

    20. He answered, "Because of your little faith [your lack of trust and confidence in the power of God]; for I assure you and most solemnly say to you, if you have [living] faith the size of a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,'and [if it is God's will] it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.

Our mountain is alcohol, but even if we have just started recovery, and develop faith as the size of a mustard seed, we will be on the road to recovery, because as we begin to understand Christ that seed will grow.

    Mark 9:23-24 Amp. Bible

    23. Jesus said to him, "[You say to Me,] 'If You can?' All things are possible for the one who believes and trust [in Me]!"
    24. Immediately the father of the boy cried out [with a desperate, piercing cry], saying, " I do believe; help [me overcome] my unbelief."

So if you now lack faith, pray to Christ to give you the faith that you need to have this power greater than ourselves, and he will help you to overcome your disbelief.

    God Bless,

    John 6:16-20 Amp. Bible

    16. When evening came, His disciples went down to the sea,
    17. and they got into a boat and started to cross the sea to Capernaum. It was already dark, and Jesus had still not come [back] to them.
    18. The sea was getting rough and rising high because a strong wind was blowing.
    19. Then, when they had rowed three or four miles [and were near the center of the sea], they saw Jesus walking on the sea and approaching the boat; and they were [terribly] frightened.
    20. But Jesus said to them, "It is I ( I AM); do not be afraid.

Our day could start out pretty good, but like what happened to Jesus' disciples it can turn to become a stormy day.  With one problem coming after another.  But having Christ in our lives, it could turn like the storm on the sea, when Jesus got in the boat and they safely got to the other side.  And it is the same with us, not matter what the problem was Christ can give us comfort and peace knowing that the problem will be solved.

  • Topic Do Not Grieve the Spirit 04/16/2018 09:30 AM

    Ephesians 4:25-32

    25. Therefore, putting away lying, "Let each of of you speak truth with his neighbor," for we are members of one another,
    26. "Be angry, and do not sin": do not let the sun go down on your wrath,
    27. nor give place to the devil.
    28. Let him who stole steal no longer but rather let him labor, working with his hands what is good, that he may have something to give him who has need.
    29. Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers.
    30. And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.
    31. Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice.
    32. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you.

Wouldn't America be a better place if people would just follow those 8 verses?  During the campaign for President we have seen fake news come out that was totally not true.

We have seen the Democrats and Liberals carry over their anger from Pres. Trump winning the elections.  All I have seen and read is the Democrats complain and attack Pres. Trump.  I have not seen anything on how they would handle the things that Pres. Trump has propose or even accomplished, without them attacking.

Even today I read that Congress woman Pelosi has sent out a tweet that Pres. Trump fired Mueller, which is not true, so fake news is still alive.

Now former FBI Director James Comey has come out with a book.  I guess it is a tell all book about his relationship with Pres. Trump.  But again this is a one side story. And of course Pres. Trump had to respond in the usual way he responds to what he considers not true.

Wouldn't America be better if everyone would follow verse 32? "And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God forgave you."

    1 John 2:15-17

    15. Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
    16. For all that is in the world---the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life--is not of the Father but is of the world.
    17. And the world is passing away, the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever.

Today political world will pass away, we will some day elected a new President and new people will be elected to congress.  And things might or might not change.  But being in God's spiritual world we will abide forever and will have peace, comfort, and an eternal life, which the today's earthly world can not give us.

It is alright to get angry, just do not sin.

    The Day of Pentecost

    Acts 2:1 Amp. Bible

1 When the day of Pentecost has come, there were all together in one place,

Pentecost means "fiftieth" and refers to the Feast of Weeks.

    Exodus 34:22-23 Amp. Bible

    22. You shall observe and celebrate the Feast of Weeks (Harvest, First Fruits, or Pentecost), the first fruits of the wheat harvest, and the Feast of In-gathering (Booths or Tabernacles) at the year's end.
    23. Three times a year all your males shall appear before the Lord God, the God of Israel.

Now it was celebrated 50 days after Passover.

    Acts 2:2 Amp. Bible

    2. and suddenly a sound came from heaven like a rushing violent wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting.

Wind is frequently used in Scripture as a picture of the Spirit.

    Ezekiel 37:9-10 Amp. Bible

    9. Then He said to me, "Prophesy to the breath, son of man, and say to the breath, 'Thus says the Lord God, "Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe on these slain, that they may life"'"
    10. So I prophesied as He commanded me, and the breath came into them, and they came to life and stood up on their feet, an exceedingly great army.

    Acts 2:3-5 Amp. Bible

    3. There appeared to them tongues resembling fire, which were being distributed [among them], and they rested on each one of them [as each person received the Holy Spirit].
    4. And they were all filled [that is, diffused throughout their being] with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues (different languages), as the Spirit was giving them the ability to speak out [clearly and appropriately].
    5. Now there were Jews living in Jerusalem, devout and God-fearing men from every nation under heaven.

Now these men were getting bewildered because they were hear from the people that had received the Holy Spirit, speaking in their own language about the marvelous works of God.

    Acts 2:12-13 Amp. Bible

12 And they were beside themselves with amazement and were greatly perplexed, saying one to another, "What could this mean?"
    13. But others were laughing and joking and ridiculing them, saying, "They are full of sweet wine and are drunk!"

Boast About the Lord, Not Ourselves

    2 Corinthians 1:12-14 Amp. Bible

    12. This is our [reason for] proud confidence; our conscience testifies that we have conducted ourselves in the world [in general], and especially toward you, with pure motives and godly sincerity, not in human wisdom, but in the grace of God [that is, His gracious lovingkindness that leads people to Christ and spiritual maturity].
    13. For we write you nothing other than what you read and understand [there is no double meaning in what we say]. And I hope you will [accurately] understand [divine things] until the end;
    14. just as you have [already] partially understood us, [and one day will recognize] that you can be proud of us just as we re of you, in the day of our Lord Jesus.

Here Paul is defending himself for those that accuse him of being fickle and unreliable. Paul is saying that he has a clear conscious before God. And there is no double meaning in what he wrote to them or said to them.  That his motives and godly sincerity was not in human wisdom but by the grace of God.

    Jeremiah 9:23-24 Amp. Bible

    23. Thus says the Lord, "Let not the one who is wise and skillful boast in his insight; let not the one who is mighty and powerful boast in his strength; let not the one who is rich boast in his [temporal satisfactions and earthly] abundance;
    24. but let the one who boasts boast in this, that he understands and know Me  [and acknowledges Me and honors Me as God and recognizes without any doubt], that I am the Lord who practices lovingkindness, justice and righteousness on the earth, for in these things I delight," says the Lord.

Paul only boasted about what God has done for him in his life. That he puts Christ first in his life.

    Romans 15:18 Amp. Bible

    18. For I will not [even] presume to speak of anything except what Christ has done through me [as an instrument in His hands], resulting in the obedience of the Gentiles [to the gospel], by word and deed.

Paul didn't start out in preaching about Christ, it was mainly the opposite.  It wasn't until his trip on the road to Damascus and Jesus appearing to him that he changed from persecuting the followers of Jesus to becoming an apostle.

    1 Timothy 1:12-17 Amp. Bible

    12. I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who has granted me [the needed] strength and made me able for this, because He considered me faithful and trust-worthy, putting me into serve [for this ministry],
    13. even though I was formerly a blasphemer [of our Lord] and a persecutor [of His church] and a shameful and outrageous and violent aggressor [toward believers]. yet I was shown mercy because I acted out of ignorance in unbelief.
    14. The grace of our Lord [His amazing, unmerited favor and blessing] flowed out in superabundance [for me, together] with the faith and love which are [realized] in Christ Jesus.
    15. This is a faithful and trustworthy statement, deserving full acceptance and approval, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinner, among whom I am foremost.
    16. Yet for this reason I found mercy, so that in me as the foremost [of sinners], Jesus Christ might demonstrate His perfect patience as an example or pattern for those who would believe in Him for eternal life.
    17. Now to the King of the ages [eternal], immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen.

Here we have Paul who said that he was outrageous and violent aggressor toward believer to be a servant of Christ.  And so can you become a follower of Christ.

    Acts 26:20 Amp. Bible

    20. but I openly proclaim first to those at Damascus, then at Jerusalem and throughout the region of Judea, and even to the Gentiles, that they should repent [change their inner self---their old way of thinking] and turn to God, doing deeds and living lives which are consistent with repentance.

Repent and turn you life over to Christ and you will have salvation.

    Mark 13:31-32 NKJV

    31. "Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away.
    32. But of that day and our no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.

It always amazes me the some people will say that on a certain date, Christ will return.  And of course that date comes and passes and nothing happened. Now a numerologist is saying the the rapture is coming on April 23rd.  Of course he is using the stars and planets and how they are being alien as to predict the event.

    Mark 13:33 NKJV

    33. Take heed, watch and pray; for you do not know when the time is.

So here Jesus is telling us that we need to pray, and keep within God's Word. And live our lives in a Godly fashion and not to stray away from Him.  For some Christ will return with judgment and only those that stayed in the path of righteousness and kept on worshiping God will receive eternal life.

    Mark 13:24-27 NKJV

    24. But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give it light;
    25. the stars of heaven will fall, and the powers in the heavens will be shaken.
    26. Then they will see the Son of Man coing in the clouds with great power and glory.
    27. And then He will send His angels, and gather together His elect from the four winds, from the farthest part of earth to the farthest part of heaven.

That is what Jesus told His disciples how His coming will be known.  It will not be how the stars, moon, earth or other planets align themselves that will tell us of His coming.

  • Topic Admit That We Have Sinned 04/11/2018 09:04 AM

    1 John 1:9 Amp. Bible

    9. If we [freely] admit that we have sinned and confess our sins. He is faithful and just [true to His own nature and promises], and will forgive our sins and cleanse us continually from all unrighteousness [our wrong-doing, everything not in conformity with His will and purpose].

One of the greatest things in believing and following our Lord Jesus Christ is that He is fair and understanding.  For being human we do sin.  But all we have to do is ask Christ to forgive us and are sincere in asking for the sins we have committed He will forgive them.

    Romans 3:23-24 Amp. Bible

    23. since all have sinned and continually fall short of the glory of God,
    24. and are being justified [declared free of the guilt of sin, made acceptable to God, and granted eternal life] as a gift by His [precious, undeserved] grace, through the redemption [the payment for our sin] which is [provided] in Christ Jesus,

For we all will fall short of the glory of God. God has given us a gift the freedom of the forgiveness of our sins.

    Galatians 3:22 Amp. Bible

    22. But the Scripture has imprisoned everyone [everything---the entire world] under sin, so that [the inheritance the blessing of salvation] which was promised through faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe [in Him and acknowledge Him as God's precious Son].

So it is by faith in Jesus Christ that we get the gift of forgiveness of sin.

    John 8:32 Amp. Bible

    32. And you will know the truth [regarding salvation], and the truth will set you free [from the penalty of sin].

So instead of playing the blame game and trying to blame others for our sins, we need to be truthful and admit that we have sinned. For by doing it that our sins will be forgiven.

One way to have a good day is to trust in Christ.

There was a 14-year-old boy that broke his neck in a trampoline accident, and the doctors told the family that he would not be able to walk.  But just 4 days after the accident the boy was walking.  Now the doctors said that it was a medical miracle. I believe that Christ played a part in his healing.

    Proverbs 12:25 Amp. Bible

    25. Anxiety in a man's heart weighs it it down,
but a good (encouraging) word makes it glad.

Anxiety loses some of its force in the face of a positive, encouraging word.  Has there been a time in your life that you were feeling down, and then someone comes up to you and says something nice, or gives you good news.  And then the anxiety you were feeling goes away.

Some time people will come up to me and ask how am I doing?  And there are times that I just feel like telling them that the world sucks. And the reality of the situation is that person really doesn't want that kind of answer.  Instead I answer by the grace of God I am alright. Which in return the person that asked me the question will feel better and might go on and have a good day. Because I didn't give them a negative answer.

    1 Thessalonians 5:11 Amp. Bible

    11. Therefore encourage and comfort one another and build up one another, just as you are doing.

Negativity can ruin a good day.  So we need to start on a positive, even we do not feel positive.  We need to ask positive things in how we approach someone, so if they are feeling negative, that positive has a chance to make the person feel better and then might be able to have a good day.

  • Topic What Would Jesus Do? 04/07/2018 12:52 PM

When I was younger there was a movement that used WWJD, you would find it on bumper stickers, T-Shirts, Key chains etc.  But today you rarely see it. Unfortunate that in this world today we really need it. Because to the political stuff that is going on. We have seen fake news stories, we see people bashing the President, etc.

    1 John 1:5 Amp. Bible

    5. This is the message [of God's promised revelation] which we have heard from Him and now announce to you, that God is Light [He is holy, His message is truthful, He is perfect in righteousness], and in Him there is no darkness at all [no sin, no wickedness, no imperfection].

With God we will not get fake news, but only the truth. For this is God's nature, in His essential being, just as He is Spirit.

    John 4:24 Amp. Bible

    24. God is spirit [the Source of life, yet invisible to mankind], and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.

    1 John 1:6-7 Amp. Bible

    6. If we say that we have fellowship with Him and yet walk in the darkness [of sin], we lie and do not practice the truth;
7, but if we [really] walk in the Light [that is, live each and every day in conformity with the precepts of God], as He Himself is in the Light, we have [true, unbroken] fellowship with one another [He with us, and we with Him], and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin [by erasing the stain of sin, keeping us cleansed from sin in all its forms and manifestations].

We had an election for President between Sec. Clinton and Mr. Trump.  Mr. Trump won the election and is now our President.  Of course the Democrats and Liberals were not happy about the situation. So they started to attack Pres. Trump.  But they forgot to ask "What Would Jesus Do?"

    1 Corinthians 3:19 Amp. Bible

    19. For the wisdom of this world is foolishness (absurdity, stupidity) before God; for it is written [in Scripture], "[He is} the one who catches the wise and clever in their craftiness,"

So the Democrats and Liberals decided to take the worldly approach to their dislike of Pres. Trump,  Which of course is foolishness to God. Where they should have taken WWJD approach.

When Jesus was on earth He was attacked by the Jewish leaders, but He didn't call them the names that we are hearing from the Democratic s and Liberals are calling our President.  He didn't call them racists, etc.  What He did do was speak the truth about His Father, and how to live life on God's terms.  What our the Democrats and Liberal terms?  Take away freedom of speech from those that disagree with them?  Call people racists but they said something they didn't like?  Will they acknowledge that unemployment is down especially for the blacks,  I believe not. They do not even mention it and try to give the impression that it isn't so.

Wouldn't America be a better place if the people in Congress decided on a law, that they would ask themselves, "What Would Jesus Do?" How would He word the issued that is going to be voted on?

As individuals wouldn't also be good to ask WWJD when a situation comes up that is not pleasant to deal with?

    John 8:32 Amp. Bible

    32. And you will know the truth [regarding salvation], and the truth will set you free [from the penalty of sin].

What Would Jesus Do?  He will tell you that you need to move to God's Light and stay away from the Darkness.

    The Upper Room

    Acts 1:12-14 Amp. Bible

12 Then the disciples returned to Jerusalem from the mount called Olivet (Olive Grove), which is near Jerusalem, [only] a Sabbath day's journey (less than one mile away.
    13. When they had entered the city, they went upstairs to the upper room wheree they were staying [indefinitely]/ that is, Peter, and John and [his brothers] James, and Andrew, Philip and Thomas, Bartholomew (Nathanael) and Matthew, James the son of Alphaeus, and Simon the Zealot, and Judas (Thaddaeus) the son of James.
    14. All these with one mind and one purpose were continually devoting themselves to prayer, [waiting together] along with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with His brothers.

So here we have the disciples going up into the upper room, And they were of one mind and one purpose were continually devoting themselves to prayer.  Now make sure you notice that there were women also present.

    Acts 1:15 Amp. Bible

    15. Now on one of these days Peter stood up among the brothers and sisters (a gathering of about a hundred and twenty believers was there) and he said.

Now this happened sometime during the believers' 10 days of prayer and fellowship between the ascension and Pentecost.

Peter goes on to explain that since Judas Iscariot was one of the disciples, and the one who betrayed Jesus, and hung himself on a tree.  That they needed to pick a replacement for him.

    Acts 1:21-22 Amp. Bible

    21. So of the men who have accompanied us during all the time that the Lord Jesus spent with us.
    22. beginning with the baptism by John [at the outset of Jesus' ministry] until the day when He was taken up from us---one of these men must become a witness with us [to testify] of His resurrection.

So Peter told what requirements that would be needed to take Judas place.  So they picked Barsabbas which means "son of the Sabbath, Justus "the righteous, and Matthias which means "gift of God".  Then they cast lots to see which one would be chosen,  The lot fell to Matthias, so he was added to the eleven apostles.

  • Topic Entrust In Him Who Judges Fairly 04/06/2018 07:10 AM

    1 Peter 2:23 Amp. Bible

    23. While being reviled and insulted, He did not revile or insult in return; while suffering, He made no threats [of vengeance], but kept entrusting Himself to Him who judges fairly.

"What Would Jesus Do," is something I like to follow in my life, but there are times that I miss the boat.

As we read the gospels we see that Jesus was reviled and insulted. And He did not revile or insult in return. In today's world we see a different way of handling disputes. When people are attacked by someone they do not follow WWJD but throw back insults and sometime physically attack the person that has said things that were said to them.

Wouldn't this be a better world today if everyone would follow the Christ and how He handled insults?  Wouldn't it be better if when someone says something you do not like that first you would think WWJD, instead of trying to get even with the person. We should entrust ourselves to Him who judges fairly and not take things into our own hands.

We have read or heard stories of people abusing their pets or other people's pets.  It gets me to think if that's how they treat their pets, how do they treat humans especially loved one.  There is a 90 year-old woman who lives in Florida that knits small blankets for cats at a animal shelters. She does it so the small blankets can be put in the cages so the cats will have a safe place to lay on while they are in the cages until they get adopted. So she is showing love for those cats that have gone astray, or people got rid of.

It gets me to think wouldn't it be a good idea with we all would put the love of Christ in our hearts, and before we act on something that troubles us think what WWJD, instead of immediately react and probably do or say something we shouldn't say or do.

    Step One

We admitted we were powerless over alcohol---that our lives had become unmanageable.

    John 15:1-2 Amp. Bible

    1. I am the true Vine, and My Father is the vine-dresser.
    2. Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit, He takes away; and every branch that continues to bear fruit, He [repeatedly] prunes, so that it will bear fruit.[even richer and finer fruit].

One thing that we have to do is to look at our character defects.  We have to see how nonproductive that these character defects and understand why and how our lives have become unmanageable.  So pruning our character defects we can then move toward the solution to quit drinking.

    Luke 15:17 Amp. Bible

    17. But when he [finally] came to his senses, he said, 'How many of my father's hired men have more than enough food, while I am dying here of hunger!

In pruning our character defects we see that we are in the same boat has the prodigal son got himself into.  We the reality of our lives and where some of our decisions were not good one.  Like the prodigal son we need to reach out to for help.  We need to invite the Lord into our life.

    Romans 7:18-20 Amp. Bible

    18. For I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my flesh [my human nature, my worldliness---my sinful capacity]. For the willingness [to do good] is present in me, but the doing of good is not.
    19. For the good that I want to do, I do not do, but I practice the very evil that I do not want.
    20. But if I am doing the very thing I do not want to do, I am no longer the one doing it [that is, it is not me that acts], but the sin [nature] which lives in me.

One reason that we couldn't quit drinking was because we are powerless to do so.  So we need to reach out to the Lord who will help us and let us know that we are not alone in our struggle of quitting.

    2 Corinthians 12:9-10 Amp. Bible

    9. but He has said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you [My loving-kindness and My mercy are more than enough---always available---regardless of the situation]; for [My] power is being perfected [and is completed and show itself most effectively] in [your] weakness." Therefore, I will all the more gladly boast in my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ [may completely enfold me and may dwell in me.
    10. So I am well pleased with weaknesses, with insults, with distresses, with persecutions, and with difficulties, for the sake of Christ; for when I am weak [in human strength], then I am strong [truly able, truly powerful, truly drawing from God's strength].

It is when we finally get the picture that we cannot quit on our own, that we need Christ in our lives.  It is then that we can more forward in our desire to quit drinking.

    This concludes Step One.

    Ephesians 1:7 Amp. Bible

    7. In Him we have redemption [that is, our deliverance and salvation] through His blood, [which paid the penalty for our sin and resulted in] the forgiveness and complete pardon of our sin, accordance with the riches of His grace,

Have you had one of those days that when you are talking to someone, you somehow get tongue tied and say something different that what you meant to say?  I know I have had those days happen to me.

It seems that a DNC member had such a day. He was speaking at a party meeting and referred African-American as "colored people", instead of saying "people of color."  Of course with Political Correction being the big thing these days, there was some uproar about it.  So this DNC member decided to step down. Because of what he said and it didn't not really represent himself as what he said made him look like.

The main problem these days that some people will not forgive someone if the do not say what they say in a political correct way.  So there are some people that do not accept the person explanation of what he meant to say, and they say that he meant it.  Now I could see the point of getting upset if the person had used the "N" word, but twisting around the wording for colored people instead of people of color, I see it has a mistake, but nothing to make a big uproar about. Just accept that he didn't mean what he said but that he just turned the wording around. Just accept his explanation and move forward.

It is a blessing of true believers in Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, that He will forgive us our trespasses, and forgive us.  Where some people will not follow Christ example of forgiveness.

  • Topic I Am Not Alone 04/04/2018 08:53 AM

    John 16:32 NASB

    32. Behold, an hour is coming, and has already come, four you to be scattered, each to his own home; and to leave Me alone; and yet I am not alone, because the Father is with Me.

It is getting to the point that we are seeing a lot of shootings, for no good reason for why the were done.  This time it happen at YouTube headquarters in California.  It seems that a young female that was part of the company, got upset about how it was treating her.  Her father said that she started to hate the company.  And if this it true she took the wrong path in solving the problem she had with the company. She decided to go there and shot some people, and then killed herself.

We all have problems in life, either we do not like our jobs, or the way people are treating us. But the majority of us do not take that kind of a route to fix a personal problem in dealing with what life has brought us.  We find other solutions that will fix the situation, and bring a more happier conclusion to life's problems.

The problem with people that do these kind of things, is that they feel that they are alone, and they feel that it isn't worth living.  But then come in the revenge factor they feel they need to get revenge on the people, schools, business that they feel that have hurt them, so they carry out the attacks and then kill themselves. And the ones that do not kill themselves are prevented from doing so.

What we need to realize is that we are not alone. Christ is right there beside us to help us get through moments of despair.

Again we have to remember that it isn't the gun that kills, it is the person holding the gun that kills. And sometimes we need to realize that gun control will solve the problem. Humans can not make laws that will stop the shooting.  Only God can do that, so we need to turn to God and His Word to get the solution.

  • Topic Boasting in Things Pertaining to God 04/03/2018 06:47 AM

    Romans 15:17-18 NASB

    17. Therefore in Christ Jesus I have found reason for boasting in things pertaining to God.
    18. For I will not presume to speak of anything except what Christ has accomplished through me, resulting in the obedience of the Gentiles by word and deed.

We saw that the Vice-President spoke of God, saying that he listened and talked to God, but only to be criticized as having a mental illness. What a shame that it was said, only to have to apologize for the remark.  On the other had it is nice to know that a political person in office does believe in God. And is willing to stand up for God and his beliefs.

Again we are seeing demonstrations about a police officer killing an unarmed person.  Make the top headlines, but you will not see a top headline on a police officer rescuing a couple from their burning house, then going back into the house to get their dog.  It will be near the end if they mention it at all.

Wouldn't we have a good chance to have a good day, if the news would report the good things that have happened first instead of last, and put the bad news last.  Wouldn't it be better if the news would show the support that the victims in the Florida School shooting, instead of gun control and finding fault with the NRA, which did not do the shooting.  What is needed is a show of compassion not gun control, that could come later. For what the news did show of compassion was over shadowed by the talk of gun control and the NRA.

The news agencies do not operate on What Would Jesus Do? But what will give them ratings.

    Jesus Ascends to Heaven

    Acts 1:9-11 NASB

    9. And after He had said these thing, He was lifted up while they were looking on a cloud received Him out of their sight.
    10. And as they ere gazing intently into the sky while He was going, behold, two men in white clothing stood beside them.
    11. They also said, "Men of Galilee why do you stand looking into the sky? This Jesus, who has been taken up from you into heaven, will come in just the same way as you have watched Him go into Heaven."

Now these two men said "Men of Galilee" because the were from Galilee, with the exception of Judas, who hung himself because of what he did, was not present.

Now this wasn't the first time that angels have appeared to people.

    Mark 16:5 NASB

    5. Entering the tomb, they saw a young man sitting at the right, wearing a white robe; and they were amazed.

In this situation the angle was telling Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James and Salome that Jesus has arisen. And there are other places in the Old Testament that angels have appeared as men.

    Daniel 7:13 NASB

    13. "I kept looking in the night visions, And behold, with the clouds of heaven One like a Son of Man was coming And He came up to the Ancient of Days And was present before Him.

So Daniel saw what these angels were talking about when they said that we would see Jesus coming from heaven in the same way He went up.
