  • Topic Step One - The Windstorm Becomes Calm 06/23/2018 09:32 AM

    Mark 4:35-40 Amp. Bible

    35. On that [same] day, when evening had come. He said to them, "Let us go over to the other side [of the Sea of Galilee]."
    36. So leaving the crowd, they took Him with them, just as He was, in the boat. And other boats were with Him.
    37. And a fierce windstorm began to blow, and waves ere breaking over the boat, and waves were breaking over the boat, so that it was already being swamped.
    38. But Jesus was in the stern, asleep [with His Head] on the [sailor's leather] cushion. And they woke Him and said to Him, "Teacher, do You not care that we are about to die?"
    39. And He got up and [sternly] rebuked the wind and said to the sea, "Hush, be still (muzzled)!" And the wind died down [as if it had grown weary] and there was [at once] a great calm [a perfect peacefulness}.
    40. Jesus said to them, "Why are you afraid? Do you still have no faith and confidence [in Me]?"

When trying to live life on life's terms, we will come to those windstorms in life, and they can make us afraid, because they make us feel so powerless.  That is why it is important to have Christ in our lives so He can bring peace to us so we can get through those windstorm.  For He will calm them and bring peace in our lives and we will not be afraid.  And then we can keep moving forward, knowing that Christ is with us and protecting us.  We just have to keep our faith and our eyes on Him.

  • Topic Step One - He Knows Nothing 06/23/2018 09:31 AM

    He Knows Nothing

    1 Corinthians 8:2 KJV

    2. And if any man think that he knoweth any thing, he knoweth nothing yet as he ought to know.

When I was growing up there are times that I just didn't listen to my parents advice or what I thought you do it or else.  And probably like other children we thought that they lived in another generalization and times have changed. And that things are now different.  So we decided to live life on our terms.

Now my parents would take me to church on Sundays.  But for me it was boring and just could not get my attention.  Now I did join some other children that went to church, but I do have to admit that when we went on a what I guess you could call some kind of retreat, well we just didn't act like what I guess you would say doing things that were not very Christian.

Like most young adults, we would believe that we could not get addicted to alcohol and that we could control it.  For all that thinking turned out for me that I knew nothing. Although I didn't start out as a full blown alcoholic it ended up turning out to be.

Like in my last post I had to make a choice: Choose Life or Choose death.  For if I would have not chosen life I might not be alive today.

    1 Corinthians 8:3 KJV

    3. But if any man love God, the same is known of him.

So I decided to join AA and try to get a sober life.  Learning how to live life on life's terms. For me I didn't object the word of God, like others did since they were either atheist or agnostics so they didn't like the word God being mentioned. I guess they have their excuses why they are against God or even the word. But I wasn't there to try to convert people to God, but there to find a solution in quit drinking. For I had determined that I cannot help anyone, unless I found a way to live life's terms and not my own.  So I decided to turn to the Person that created life for He has the knowledge on how to live life in a better way than I could ever imagine.

So also starting my journey in sobriety, I started another journey in find out the true about God.  So I started to attend church.  But there was a problem in so doing it.  Although I believe that the ministers had good intentions in trying to explain God.  They would quote a scripture and preach on it.  But for me there was no back-up in what they were saying.  Although some of the stories they used to preach were somewhat interesting they still were not telling me who God is.

Then one day I was with my dad, who besides being a music teacher was also a minister.  We usually would just talk about what's going on in life or we would talk about music.  But this time it was different we talked about God.  It was though those conversation that I got to know God.  I helped me in my study of the Bible to understand God. So the decision of living life on life terms but to live life on God's terms, is the way to go in life.

I still make mistakes in life, but that alright for I know that God will forgive me, and will put me back on the right track. So in my young adult life where I knew nothing, now I know God and what He has in store for my.

    God Bless,

    Choose Life

    Deuteronomy 30:19

    19. I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live.

One day I wasn't feeling to good. Didn't really didn't think to much of it, thought it might be some kind of virus going around that it would eventually go away.  With a lot of nagging from my wife I gave in and went to see a doctor. Well he did some blood work and came back with not such good news.  Asked some questions, but I guess I didn't answer the right.  Next thing I knew I was on my way to the hospital for detox.  Oops!  Didn't see that coming my way.  Was only suppose to be in detox for 3 days.  Well that day came and the doctor came in and then proceeded to ask me some questions. Then the other oops fell, I had to stay for at least one more day.  Did it again didn't answer the question right.

Well I did finally get out of detox and then was to take part in out-patience recovery, but since they put me in a half-way house, I really didn't see that it was out patient since I couldn't go home.

    Deuteronomy 30:20

20 That thou mayest love the Lord thy God, and that thou mayest obey his voice, and that thou mayest cleave unto him: for he is thy life, and the length of thy days; that thou mayest dwell in the land which the Lord sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give them.

it wasn't until later in my recovery that I understood verse 20.  Verse 19 wasn't to hard to figure out.  Of course I choose life.

Now I probably didn't have the smooth start in getting started on my journey, but at least it was a start.

    Have a good day.

  • Topic Step One - I Am Weary 06/23/2018 09:28 AM

Step 1. We admitted we were powerless over alcohol---that our lives had become unmanageable.

    I Am Weary

    Psalm 6:6-7

    6. I am weary with my groaning: all the night make I my bed to swim; I water my couch with my tears.
    7. Mine eye is consumed because of grief; it waxeth old because of all mine enemies.

When we admit that we are powerless over alcohol---that our lives had become unmanageable, we are recognizing our enemy, alcohol.  And that we are powerless over it, there is nothing we can do about it. At least that is what we first believe.  But in reality there is something that we can do.  And that is to reach out for a power greater than ourselves.

    Proverbs 23:29-35

    29. Who hath woe? who hath sorrow? who hath contentions? who hath babbling? who hath wounds without cause? who hath redness of eyes?
    30. They that tarry long at the wine: they that go to seek mixed wine.
    31. Look not thou upon the wine when it is red, when it giveth his colour in the cup, when it moveth itself aright.
    32. At the last it biteth like a serpent, and stingeth like an adder.
    33. Thine eyes shall behold strange women and thine heart shall utter perverse things.
    34. Yea, thou shalt be as he that lieth down in the midst of the sea, or as he that lieth upon the top of a mast.
    35. They have stricken me, shalt thou say, and I was not sick; they have beaten me, and I felt it not: when shall I awake? I will seek it yet again.

I would go to bed wondering how I was going to get though the next day. At first it started as a minute to minute thing to start this journey in recovery.

    Psalm 6:2-4

    2. Have mercy upon me, O Lord; for I am weak: O Lord, heal me; for my bones are vexed.
    3. My soul is also sore vexed: but thou, O Lord, how long?
    4. Return, O Lord, deliver my soul: oh save me for they mercies' sake.

I can not remember the times when I went to bed at night that I asked the Lord to have mercy on me.  I didn't start my recovery at a young age, I started it at the good old age of 50. So not only what old age brings I also had to deal with my thorn in the flesh.

    Psalm 40:1-3

    1. I waited patiently for the Lord: and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry.
    2. He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings.
    3. And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the Lord.

I have to admit that at that time patience was not one of my strong points in life. Today I still get lessons in patience. I have learned that you need to have patience especially if you are in recovery.  For the reality of the situation is that we didn't get where we were overnight it took time.  In recovery it also will take time and patience.  And since one of my many character defects was not being patience in what I want, God start working on me with patience and learning the importance of having patience. I had to come to understand that the Lord knows what He is doing, and all I have to do is just trust Him in giving this path to recovery. And each time that the Lord gave me a lesson in how to live life on His terms and not my own.

For those that just cannot find recovery, they haven't really taken Step One as serious as they need to get it.  They just have not learned patience and just want it now. But that is not how it works. First off you not only have to admit that you are powerless over alcohol, you have to accept it as a fact a truth, that you are powerless.  And to overcome this powerlessness you need to have patience, and most important that you have a open mind.  Where at one time you did not give the Lord any thought in your life.  It will take patience and learning to move towards a way of life that will in the end give us the satisfaction of living our life with the Lord instead of the way we were living life, a life without the Lord, to a life with the Lord. And to do that you need to find out about the Lord, and what a wonderful life you can have, without alcohol. Just by trusting the Lord and not ourselves.

Seek the Lord Before You Make a Decision

    Proverbs 12:5 Amp. Bible

    5. The thoughts and purposes of the [consistently] righteous are just (hones, reliable),
But the counsels and schemes of the wicked are deceitful,

With all the division that America is going through it is hard to find an real truth.  There has been a lot of fake news or news with just half-truths being presented.  So it is hard to determine what is truth in what we hear or read in the news.

    Philippians 4:8 Amp. Bible

    8. Finally, believers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable and worthy of respect, whatever is lovely and brings peace, whatever is admirable and of good repute; if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think continually on these things [center your mind of them, and implant them in your heart].

Since the Democrats and the Republicans are acting in telling stories that contain half-truths and not acting in a Christian way of trying to make their point.  It is important that we go the the Lord, who is gives us the truth.  And pray asking Him what is the truth in all that is being given us by the news.  And to do that we need to go to the book of life, the Bible to find the truth and follow what He has set up for us in how to live.

To have a good day we need to center our mind on the Lord so He will lead us in our daily walk into the day.  That way we know that whatever happens in the day, we can have a:

I Will Wait for the Lord

    Psalm 25:3-5 Amp. Bible

    3. Indeed, none of those who [expectantly] wait for You will be ashamed;
Those who turn away from what is right and deal treacherously without cause will be ashamed (humiliated, embarrassed).
    4. Let me know Your ways, O Lord;
    Teach me Your paths.
    5. Guide me in Your truth and teach me,
    For You are the God of my salvation;
For You [and only You] I wait [expectantly] all the day long.

In my younger days patience wasn't my best thing that I had.  But when I started to get older I learned that patience is a good thing.  Instead of jumping into something, I have found out that if I wait and have patience things usually turn out alright.  Where when I didn't have patience things seemed to get worse not better.

When I accepted the Lord into my life, I discovered that if I would let Him guide me in my life, that I got more patience.  I learned that my timing isn't what I need but God's timing was what I need to wait patiently for Him to show me the correct way to live life.  I am a human so there has been times that I didn't wait, and each time it was a mistake.  But the Lord is a merciful God and forgives me and steps in and guides me back to what I need to do.

For me to have a good day, I need the Lord in my life.  And when something comes up I need to is ask the Lord to help guide me through what ever has come up.  And to wait patiently for His reply. Even if I have to wait all day.

The Lord Nullifies the Counsel of the Nations

    Psalm 33:10-12 Amp. Bible

    10. The Lord nullifies the counsel of the nations;
He makes the thoughts and plans of the people ineffective.
    11. The counsel of the Lord stands forever,
The thoughts and plans of His heart through all generations.
    12. Blessed [fortunate, prosperous, and favored by God] is the nation whose God is the Lord,
The people whom He has chosen as His own inheritance.

When America started to turn it's back on the Lord, we started to see division in America.  We are seeing the plans of the people to become ineffective.  Instead of finding solutions to our problems all we see is division. Even when the people spoke up about separating children from their parents, and the President signed a act to forbid it, there still is division. Which goes to prove that the plans of the people are ineffective, even if the intentions where on the good.  Because some will not even accept that they made their point and got the separation of children and the parents stopped.

    Psalm 33:18-22 Amp. Bible

    18. Behold, the eye of the Lord is upon those who fear Him [and worship Him with awe-inspired reverence and obedience],
On those who hope [confidently] in His compassion and lovingkindness,
    19. To rescue their lives from death
And keep them alive in famine.
    20. We wait [expectantly] for the Lord;
He is our help and our shield.
    21. For in Him our heart rejoices,
Because we trust [lean on, rely on, and are confident] in His holy name.
    22. Let Your [steadfast] lovingkindness, O Lord, be upon us,
In proportion as we have hoped in You.

It will not be until America returns to the Lord, that we will the division stop.  Because the plans of the people that are in charge of running this Country is ineffective.

And it is the same for us.  We need to have the Lord, so when we start our day, we have a good chance of having a good day.

    Incline Your Ear to Me

    Psalm 31:2-4 NASB

    2. Incline Your ear to me, rescue me quickly;
Be to me a rock of strength,
    A Stronghold to save me.
    3. For You are my rock and my fortress;
For You name's sake You will lead me, and guide me.
    4. You will pull me out the net which they have secretly laid for me,
    For You are my strength.

Would this world be good if we knew without a doubt that every day would be a good one.  Unfortunate that isn't the case.  The world runs like a river, with it running smooth then all of a sudden it will become turbulence, with rapids trying to bouncing us around to take us off our course.  It is with the Lord that we can over come those rapids, because of the Lord's help He will guide us through them.

So to have a good day, we need the Lord's strength, and to be our rock in how we start our day.

    Trust in the Lord

    Proverbs 3:5-6

    5. Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
    6. In all thy ways acknowledge him and he shall direct thy paths.

Since life is a up and down affair, we need someone that will direct our path in going out though the day.  And things will happen that is beyond our understanding.  So we need the Lord to direct our path, because His understanding is way above man's understanding and reasoning.

In dealing with me wife health issues I just do not understand why she is having some episode to where she cannot communicate and just doesn't know where she is at, etc.  I have a problem when the doctors do not understand why she goes through those episodes. So it is important that I lean on the Lord to direct my path in how I should handle those situations.

So what is important in wanting to have a good day, is to put the Lord first in our lives and let Him guide us throughout the day.

    Keep Your Eyes On Christ

    Matthew 14:28-30 KJV

    28. And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water.
    29. And he said, "Come." And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus.
    30. But when he saw the sine boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me.

Starting our day could start pretty good, like it was for Peter, it was going pretty good.  But life has it's up's and down's, just like the sea that Peter wanted to walk on to go to Jesus. For when the sea became boisterous, and the waves started to look scary Peter got afraid. And it is the same way with us.  When the day is going good things are alright.  But when life takes a boisterous turn, like Peter we become afraid.

It is then that we really need to do what Peter did cry out to the Lord to save us. And like what Jesus did for Peter and reached out a saved him.  He will do the same for us.

Wrapped Me with a Robe of Rigteiousness

    Isaiah 61:10 NASB

    10. I will rejoice greatly in the Lord,
    My soul will exult in my God;
For He has clothed me with garments of salvation,
He has wrapped me with a robe of righteousness,
As a bridegroom decks himself with a garland,
And as a bide adorns herself with her jewels.

Have you ever woke up in the morning just feeling, well what's going to go wrong today.  Not a very good way of having a good day, if you start on a negative thought.  If you pay more attention in the world's affairs than the Lord, then those thoughts will be with you as you start your day.

How do you feel if when you wake up and just rejoice in the Lord.  Thanking Him for getting you through yesterday and what it brought your way.  And if yesterday was a good day we need to thank Him, and if some parts of the day wasn't to good then we again need to thank Him for helping us to get though the day.

If we keep looking at the world for a way to have a good day, well it most likely will not happen. For it would be mostly likely that we will carry the negative of yesterday over into today, because we just cannot get the problems of what yesterday brought us out of our mind.

    Matthew 6:34 NASB

    34. "So do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own."

It is the same way in dealing with yesterday.  For yesterday is gone and passed and there is nothing that we can do about it.  The only thing that we can handle, but with the Lord being with us is rejoice in the Lord and thanking Him for today and keep helping us to go out into the world, and:

Walk in the Light Not in the Darkness

    1 John 1:5-10 KJV

    5. This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.
    6. If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:
    7. But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
    8. If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
    9. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
    10. If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

Have you ever opened up a door and all you saw was darkness, and then precede to walk in without any light?  And then find out that you cannot manage to get around in the room you entered?  It is the same when we wake up in the morning and started our day in the darkness of this world.  With all the evil that is out there.

The common sense when we open the door and see darkness is to look for a light switch so there we be light and we can see where we are going in entering the room.  In that case we need to do the same thing when we wake up to start our day.  And the light switch we use to turn on the light is that of the Lord.  We have turned on in having fellowship with the Lord.  So when the darkness of the world tries to come upon us we will still have light, to do battle with that darkness and to over come it.

We are human we make mistakes (sin), but we have a merciful Lord who will forgive us when we ask him.  But the darkness of this world, wants us to condemn us in our mistakes, and wants us to dwell on our sins.  The thief want us to be darkness so he can remove the light of the Lord, and cause us to have a bad day.

It is the light switch of the Lord, we use to start our day, that gives us power to over come what the darkness the thief uses to keep us from having a good day.  For he knows that the truth of the Lord is stronger than he can ever be.  And the light will continue in our day. Which only means one thing for us.

    Abide in Me

    John 15:4

    4. Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in Me.

Where do you go to find out how to have a good day?  Do you look to the world as a means of having a good day?  If you take a real hard look at life, I can not see how the world will even help you. Especially if the day takes a turn for the worse.  Only if your day stays on a even pace can the world help you have a good day, unfortunate life in the world is never on a even pace.  For there is too much evil present for that to happen.

Or do you use your faith in the Lord to help you have a good day?  For it is in the Lord that we can battle the evil that is in this world.  For the Lord gives us the tools to battle it, as long as we use those tools.

    John 8:31-32

    31. Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed:"
    32. "And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free."

What does the world give you have is truth about living life?  Very little, and most times it is only half-truths.  The world does give out notices on things that are harmful to us.  And the world is trying to cure the illnesses of this world.  And it usually through trial and error that they do find some solutions to diseases that affect us.  Etc. But the world cannot give us inner peace inside our soul.  For the world is not capable of giving you the most important things to have a good day and that is inner peace inside you and the only way that it is possible to have a good day, even in times of trouble.

Where the Lord has given us a book called the Bible, that gives us truth about having a good day.  He tells us that by having faith in Him, we are able to deal with life regardless of what happens in the day.  He not only tells us what happens to us when we do not follow Him.  He also has shown that He is a merciful Lord and will forgive us our sins, and all we have to do is ask Him. And in the world that can be hard to get, if at all.

Right now in my personal life I am facing a troubling situation.  But I know without a doubt that if I abide in the Lord, it is still possible to have a good day. For it is only by my faith in the Lord that I know things will work out.  Maybe not the way I would like, but abiding in the Lord, I know it will turn out better than anything that I can come up with to handle the situation at hand.

    Deuteronomy 30:19

    19. I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and they seed may live:

What the Lord toward Israel still applies today.  We have a choice "life or death".  And it is the same with having a good day. We can choose the world, and lose a chance to have a good day because of the world brings.  Or we can abide in the Lord, who is the only one that can give us life and a way to have a good day in times of trouble.

    Abide in Me

    John 15:4

    Luke 18:22

    22. Now when Jesus heard these things, he said unto him, Yet lackest thou one thing: sell all that thou hast, and distribute unto the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come follow me.

This is out of the story of a certain ruler that asked Jesus what shall he do to have eternal life?  This certain ruler told Jesus that he has kept the commandments since his youth.  Then Jesus told him that he lack one thing. The problem with this ruler was that he was very rich, and just couldn't get into that he should sell off his worth that he had built living in the world. So he went away sorrowful.

To have a good day, we need to make choices in life.  First do we seek earthly treasures, and use them to believe that we can have a good day?  Now there is nothing wrong in going out and finding a job, so we can pay our bills, buy food to eat, because that is what is needed to live in the world.  The problem arises is if we use our money to buy items that we really do not need, just to have items that we believe will give us pleasure and a way to have a good day. But what about the day when things just go upside down, and the day is not such a good day.  Does those items help in really having a good day, when life does what life will do?

Second, to we see heavenly treasures?  Have we made the decision to follow Christ?  By following Christ, we can enjoy life, and when life take a nose dive in the wrong direction in our life.  He will be right there beside us to help with the emotional stress that life on earth will bring us. Christ gives us hope, that what situation that has come upon us that we will survive. And in the end we will have a good day. Because we let the Lord have it, and put our faith in him.  Worldly things can not give us that.

    1 Peter 2:21

    21. For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps:

    Touch Me Not

    John 20:17 KJV

    17. Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father; but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father and Your Father; and to my God, and your God.

Now I am what we call a senior citizen and have heard ministers teach that a woman should not preach or be a teacher.  And to my surprise I have found that there are still people that believe that.  What a shame. For it was this same Mary that found Jesus tomb empty and reported it to the disciples.  And as we just read it was this same Mary that first to see Jesus.

Now we have read that the disciples were with Jesus during His earthly ministry and He taught them, and even told them what was coming. And after Christ died on the cross, all they did was go back to their home.

It was Mary that went to the sepulcher and found it empty, and she was the one that told the disciples what she had found.  And it was Mary that first saw Jesus heard Jesus say that He has not yet ascended to His Father.

Lets take some things into account.  First it was Judas, a disciple that betrayed Jesus.  Second it was Peter that denied knowing Jesus three times. It was Mary that showed her love for Christ.  She went to the sepulcher because she loved Him.  After the disciple did go to the sepulcher and saw that what Mary said was true, they didn't stay, but went back home.  Where Mary stayed.

    John 20:11-13 KJV

    11. But Mary stood without at the sepulcher weeping: and as he wept, she stooped down, and looked into the sepulcher,

    12. And seeth two angels in white sitting, the one at the head, and the other at the feet, where the body of Jesus had lain.
    13. And they say unto her, Oman, why weepst thou? She saith unto them, Because they have taken away my Lord, and I know not where they have laid him.

So what we have here is that the men stayed home, where on the other hand a woman, who loved the Lord went to His sepulcher and by so doing it was a woman that told the men that the Lord was not there.  It was a woman that stayed after the men had left, that looked into the sepulcher and saw the angels, then saw the Lord before He had ascended up to His Father.

So I have learned listen to people talk about the Lord, but it is better to see how they walk the talk. Now I am not saying that the disciples didn't love the Lord, because I believe they did. But it took a woman to show how to walk in the Lord.  It was this Mary, to show us how we should walk.  For by her actions she showed true love for the Lord.

People have to take into consideration that Jesus earthly mother played a important part in have the Lord come to us.  For she gave birth to the Lord. So without a woman we could not have the benefits that the Lord has given us for us that believe.

Now Jesus told Mary not to touch me, but He didn't say to be quiet.  He told her to proclaim that He has arisen and His on His way to be with His Father. And that's what this woman Mary did. She instructed the men that the Lord our Savior Jesus Christ had arose.

    God Bless

    Rely Confidently on the Lord

    Proverbs 3:5 Amp. Bible

    5. Trust in and rely confidently on the Lord with all your heart
And do not rely on your own insight or understanding.

I am confident that watching a Award Show is not really one that is worth watching.  It seems that those shows now have become a political platform for some actors that just have to attack our President.

I feel sorry for those that have been nominated for an award, and are truly there to thank the people who elected them to get that award.  That they have to be overshadowed by the few actors the believe that throwing out dirty language is appropriate.

    Proverbs 3:3 Amp. Bible

    3. Do not let mercy and kindness and truth leave you [instead let these qualities define you]:
Bind them [securely] around your neck,
Write them on the tablet of your heart.

By showing mercy and kindness to others is the best way of having a good day.  For spreading hate just spreads hate and there is no way anyone can have a good day.

    Have a good day,

    Hospitality One to Another

    1 Peter 4:9 Amp. Bible

    9. Be hospitable to one another without complaint.

Every have one of those days that doesn't start as you as you would like it to start?  And have either your boss or someone that you prefer not to see at that moment.  And you say to yourself I really do not need this person company at this time?

    1 Peter 4:8 Amp. Bible

    8. Above all, have fervent and unfailing love for one another, because love covers a multitude of sins [it overlooks unkindness and unselfishly seeks to best for others].

So your boss walks up to you and you think that he/she is going to complaint about the job you did on your last project, so gloom starts to set in.  Then here comes the oops, in your thinking.  The boss was well please in how you handled your last project and wants to promote you and give you a raise. Or the person you know that seems like they just like to complain about anything, then again the oops comes into play, they say something positive.

    Hebrews 13:1-2 Amp. Bible

    1. Let love of your fellow believers continue.
    2. So not neglect to extend hospitality to strangers [especially among the family of believers---being friendly, cordial, and gracious, sharing the comforts of your home and doing you part generously], for by this some have entertained angles without knowing it.

    Romans 12:15-16 Amp. Bible

    15. Rejoice with those who rejoice [sharing other's joy], and weep with those who weep [sharing other's grief].
    16. Live in harmony with one another; do not be haughty [conceited, self-important, exclusive], but associate with humble people [those with a realistic self-vies] Do not overestimate yourself.

It pays to be hospitable to one another without complaint.  Who knows maybe you meant an angel that gave you a piece of wisdom, or a person that just got some good news and needs someone to celebrate their good fortune.  Or a person that had to face a lost of a loved one and need someone there to grieve with, that will give them encouragement to keep moving forward in life.

It does pay to be hospitable to someone, even if it just to say have a good day,

    Have a good day,
