Romans 1:17 NIV

For in the gospel a righteousness from God is revealed, a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: "The righteous will live by faith."

How strong is your faith?  When problems come about do you put your faith in God or do you start worrying about how the problem is going to be handled? Of course we need to handle the things that we can do to fix the problem.  But we also need to pray to God that He will help us in getting to the solution.

Back in 2011 my wife had several strokes.  I did what I need to do and that was to get her to the hospital right away.  Then I let the doctors do what they need to do to help her.  But when the doctor told me that he didn't believe that she would not make it, there was nothing I could do. At first I got upset but when I settled down I turned to God, who can help my wife in her condition.  I prayed for God's Will and let Him have control.  Praise the Lord for He let her live.  Of course she had a rough road to travel in getting well but with God's help she managed to get somewhat well enough to go home.  Then in 2016 she had another episode and again I was told that she wasn't going to make it, so they suggested that I call in hospice.  She then went to a nursing home and laid in bed for a week without moving.  The only thing I could do was again to pray for God's Will.  And again God let my wife to live. All I had to do was have faith.

Genesis 15:1-6 NIV

1. After this, the word of the Lord came to Abram in a vision: "Do not be afraid Abram. I am your shield, your very great reward."
2. But Abram said, "O Sovereign Lord what can you give me since I remain childless and the one who will inherit my estate is Eliezer of Damasus?"
3. And Abram said, "You have given me no children; so a servant in my household will be my heir."
4. Then the word of the Lord came to him: "This man will not be your heir, but a son coming from your own body will be your heir."
5. He took him outside and said, "Look up at the heavens and count the stars---if indeed you can count them." Then he said to him, "So shall your offspring be."
6. Abram believed the Lord, and he credited it to him as righteousness.

So we need to listen to the Lord as what He told Abram: "Do not be afraid." "I am your shield, your very great reward."  So when a situation comes our way we need not to be afraid, because the Lord is right there beside us.  Even when my wife's situation, I had faith, but I also prepared myself for the worst.  Remembering that it is God's Will not my will.  And if it turned out bad, it wasn't for me to ask; "Why God."  But to accept that God knows what is best and how the future would affect her.

So living by faith we can live our lives knowing that the Lord is there and is our shield in what outcome might come our way.

God Bless
Have a good day,
John T. Begin
