What the heck is happening to these guys.......the music profession doesn't seem to lend itself to longevity....I kinda liked Daryle.

Sorry to hear that, though I'd only heard his name a few times. I don't believe he received any airplay in Guatemala

Singletary re-recorded his Old Violin and invited the old outlaw to supply the song’s recitation, which he recorded from his bed. Just a few weeks later, Johnny Paycheck died in his sleep on February 18, 2003.

Stubbs had Daryle on his trbute to paycheck And they talked about him going to Paycheck's hospital room. I think he recorded Paycheck doing  the resitation on a recorder for Daryle's recording of the song

I heard Singletary do it on one of the reunion shows.
Nice voice, but seemed kinda empty to me compared
to Paycheck. I didn't dislike him, but then I wasn't a fan
either. RIP, Daryle.......

I don't know the name Daryle Singletary,

he had a good voice but I don't think you can improve

on Johnny Paycheck doing Old Violin .

May he Rest In Peace ...

There's just some songs that I consider too special
to be covered by anyone else and "Old Violin" is one
of them. Johnny wrote that about himself and that's
where it should stay, with him.....
