Bobbyray, Leona brings me the gifts
when we meet at the dock.

Bug, I've had insomnia my entire adult life, but I learned years ago
that when I wake up for no reason and can't go back to sleep
to not lay there and fight it, but to just get up and do something
and go back to bed when I feel like I can rest.
And since I don't have a getting up time the amount of sleep I get
comes out to be enough.  Heck, I seem to get more photo editing done
in the middle of the night than any other time!

Bug, I too am sorry for the loss of your friend's mother,
and it's always nice to be able to lend a hand in these

"Pull a Gary again tonight"
Umm, is that a bad thing?

Bobbyray, Leona sent me a dozen roses,
and a new ID bracelet.
Send you anything?

Posted on 07/19/2018 9:32 PM

Nope, can't upload photos from my files.

Just think Bobbyray, if you had been wearing a higher hat
she may have never noticed me that day!

Posted on 07/19/2018 11:23 AM

Bobbyray, if I had gotten close to a young Wanda,
she might have needed a body guard. Of course
after I met Leona she had no worries about me.

Oh how could I live without Leona?

Posted on 07/19/2018 11:18 AM

Been wondering about that. So what's new about it?
I haven't checked it out, but it sure looks the same to me.

Has it been nap time for two days?

Or did everyone just die?

Posted on 07/16/2018 9:27 PM

You're right, Bobbyray.  We sure have lost
a bunch in the last twenty years. In fact
they're pretty much all gone.

This is the first I've heard of Pauline Tabor. I looked her
up, but still don't know anything about her milk can.
Cracker, I was only over in that part of Kentucky a couple
of times and don't know much about it.  Not knowing
about Miss Pauline was probably my great loss!

Cracker, it was "The AOCS Band" that Jack listed several members.

I think one of the best banter capers pulled of was Bobbyray
and myself working in the movie Casablanca. I have no idea
how it got started, but I had lurkers to e-mail me and ask if
we were extras in the movie.  There were lurkers who wouldn't join
because they said they didn't know that much about country
music, but they watched and read the threads everyday and
night just to see what on earth would come up next.  One guy
said him and his wife watched our threads more than they
watched TV.

I think the best feeling I ever got was when
someone outside the group would write to my site and ask
if us bunch of elwakos on the group could find some old song
for them, and as a team many of us would go to work looking
for that song, and we almost always found what they were
looking for. It might take a week or two, but we found it
And that was before YouTube!

Bug, "Til I gain control" was by Sherman

Whisper was by Burley.

If you remember, Bobbyray, Sheepwoman (Karen) died quite
a few years ago. She was 36.  Breast cancer.

Posted on 07/13/2018 10:19 PM

I didn't realize it at the time I posted this, but it goes so far back
that Bobbyray and myself were the only two here who was there
at the time.  With that said, I just now realized that starting with
Last Country Song and up until now there's been about twenty
years of this.  No wonder there's nothing to talk about. It's bound
to have all been said!

Posted on 07/13/2018 12:24 PM

Oh I don't know. I recall some situations that were unbelievable, like the guy
who said he was 8th cousin to Johnny Cash.  Or the guy who said we were too
much of a clique and that he was going to have us removed from MSN.

Posted on 07/13/2018 11:18 AM

The woman who got mad about legends and their drinking was Susan.
Don't remember the Jim Reeves gal. Don't remember any Blues at
that time.

Then there was the daughter n law of Redd Stewart that
wanted the whole group to be about Redd and Ten. Waltz.

Posted on 07/12/2018 10:15 AM

Then There was to gal who tried to turn "Last Country Song"
into the Jim Reeves group!

Posted on 07/12/2018 10:12 AM

Bobbyray, do you remember the time way back there
when you and me got to talking about all the country
music legends that had been known to hit the bottle
pretty hard, which is almost all of them. Anyway, we were
telling stories about all the crazy thing they had done
while drunk. She got very angry told us off real good
and left the group. I remember her saying when we got
to Roy Acuff, that was all she could stand, because he
had never hit the bottle in his life!

My point might would be that the name of this group is

 "Vintage Country Music"
