I use to see a multitude of thatched roof structures in Miami out working on cables in the easements. I guess there was companies that built them or there were always indians that would build them. plenty of bamboo here and palm tree fronds. They were common in peoples back yards and around their pools.

Gary Pauline was well known all over the USA.. When she died and her house was tore down they advertised bricks for sale in magazines . I read once where one guy bought enough for a wall in his den and a bar

She kept a milk can that was a silent message to perspective clients. If the milk can was on the porch, she was open for business. If it sat in the driveway, they were closed up and you’d have to come back another time.

one of those big milk cans like people buy and decorate. Like the pet milk truck use to pick milk  up from the farmers;

 Some names from the group --Where you at Barney ??

Barney may have  been in Bowling Green in charge of Pauline Tabor's milk can. Anything to that rumor Barney?

How about you Gary? You are from Ky,you know anything about Paulines? At one time I think me and Barney were both driving from Bowling Green to Nashville to work. Not at the same time though. I 65 was not open all the way when I drove it,how about you Barney?

Mac Wiseman: 'The voice with a heart' - The Tennessean

www.tennessean.com/.../04/22/mac-wiseman-voice-heart/8034553

"I've driven, literally, millions of miles," says Mac Wiseman, who'll turn 89 in May. To be elected in the "veteran era" category, a performer must have become nationally prominent more than 45 years ago. Wiseman, who was introduced Tuesday by former CMA Executive Director Jo Walker-Meador, cleared that bar at quarter-century ago.

I always liked this one.
