One of those 4-wheeled ones looks like the right kind of thing. MIL has had both knees replaced but the new ones didn't take very well, so what the site says about these devices being useful to take part of someone's weight so they can continue to walk sounds exactly what is needed. Says they are OK indoors and outdoors, too. I just hope MIL is under 28 stone, though...
*sofie* thank you too - the medical shop near me has a lot of mobility devices and has catalogues and lots of expertise. I've hired a wheelchair from them before for me, but given it's not me going to be using this, I need to know what questions to ask.
Ebay has a bunch of sellers with new bariatric rollators (all the same model, I think) for just over £100 so will probably go there unless anyone knows are particularly good supplier, perhaps near Bournemouth?
