Hello Ouch,
I'm posting this here to inform that as part of the Extended Projects Qualification (EPQ) under the AQA specifications, I will be potentially undergoing a research task in the title listed above. This is at the moment purely a heads-up of the potential subject choice, and nothing has been confirmed as of yet.

If I get the go-ahead to investigate into this form of research, then I'll be making a new thread to co-ordinate any new information. Research Guidelines will be kept into consideration, but at the moment, it is not yet time to abide by them.

If the subject doesn't go ahead, then you have nothing to worry about, but I thought it'd be polite to inform you all first before I appear randomly.

That is fine as long as you keep to the Researcher's Guidelines that Rose' already posted :-)

Autism and education will make for an interesting topic, especially if you include some investigation in to the way statementing can bring much needed income into a school.

Just as an update, with the amount of time left before I go into full investigations, it seems like this will be the main course of action to follow.

Against the title however, they've asked for some specifics - for the sake of keeping things relatively simplistic (yet broad enough), I've decided to go towards 1994-Present Day within the Essex Region. My current considerations is also to look at numerous works and recent Acts / Laws relating to Education and Disability and then using them as references (some report I can't remember which was published at the start date, plus the Green Paper).

Got some good resources prepped as well - stuff from Attwood, Tassoni, a bit of Baron-Cohen... a few magazines... I only hope that I can not get destroyed by walls of text critting my eyes for over 9000 damage. <.<'

Also going to try and get a better understanding of the Social Models as well - I've pretty much gotten the idea of the model since my beginnings on the Ouch! boards, but it wouldn't hurt to look at the concept again and then try to apply it to the topic title.

In short, I *may* ask for assistance, but at most this may more be a case of advisory rather than actually asking for sources. Should have plenty to work on, but for now, time will tell.

Many thanks CrazyKim. I've been controversial, but this topic is going to be just as much... for specific audiences of course. ;)

will you be doing an online questionaire with a link? So I can point those on the aspie forms I know in your direction. Some understanding of why your studying us and what you want to prove will also be helpful

Hello Otter,
This may be a possibility, as obviously Ex-Students may provide a broader picture if they had education between the dates listed. Of course if said Aspies are from other counties, this may not be appropriate related to what the topic title requires.

I'll have a closer think of this for now - could be useful as a form of pre-liminary work beforehand, and be useful as a pilot test study.

Many thanks :)

This project is a go. :D

Whilst you cannot directly help me, I will certainly be coming and going when the time arises for advice on this matter. I'll make a new thread later on when I'm not too busy and not forgetful to try and compile everything in one place. Obviously I can't ask you all to not keep on-topic, but it would be appreciated when the time comes that request can be brought to.

I mean, you'll still have me to chat to on Ouch! Talk! ;)
