This morning I discovered that Ebby was covered in fleas!!!   They are both Frontlined every month without fail, but obviously his immune system is down and he succumbed.   Ivy had a couple but only a couple. 

I found an old nit comb in the bathroom cabinet from when my son was small and gave them both a good comb through.  When my cleaner arrived, I went to the Vet and bought Advantage for them both plus a huge tin of spray for their beds, the carpets and furnishings.

My cleaner vacuumed everything and I then sprayed everything in each room with the spray.  All the windows and doors had to be closed for at least half an hour, so I put the cats out and I went round to my neighbour for a cuppa.

I might get another tin of the carpet spray and redo it all again next week just to be on the safe side.

All my bedding (because they sleep on my bed!!), their beds and rugs have all been sprayed and are now stored in large black plastic bags until they can be washed at a very high temperature. 

I so need my new washing machine to be connected and working - hopefully tomorrow but maybe next week!!! 

I feel that my house and me (plus the cats) are really dirty now.
