and it's not over yet
On Sunday afternoon, I discovered my bathroom was flooded.  Called the emergency number (it's a housing association property) and a plumber came out to have a look - he said it was my Closomat toillet that was causing the problem, and switched it off, therefore I had no toilet (good job I have a catheter),

So I rang the Housing association who said they would get someone out - I cancelled my appt with the nurse (I have a ulcer on my foot that needs twice weekly dressing) and stayed in all day.  By 4pm no-one had come, so I rang again to be told it would be Tuesday afternoon now, sometime after 12.  Cue one more cancelled appt - can't have morning appointments cos can never guarantee what time care arrives.

Closomat engineer arrives - looks at workings of toilet - switches it back on, and tells me the reason it stopped working is because it was switched off.  he tells me it didn't cause the flooding which is STILL happening.

Wednesday am - bathrooom still like a swamp (as fast as it mops up - still happens) another HA person arrives - who finds source of leak - BATHROOM RADIATOR, he says I need a plumber

Thursday - they will be out sometime today.

OH has managed ok because we have a 2nd toilet - it's not suitable for me, no handrails and I can't use a raised seat.

How absolutely frustrating!

I can sympathise because since my new washing machine has been fitted, the on/off tap which connects the water to the piping has also been leaking.

Three days I've had to wait for a plumber but a lovely man is here at this very moment fixing it.   Thank goodness.

I really do hope your plumber will arrive today and get the problem fixed.

My bedroom heater's conked out, the freezer compartment on the fridge has decided to totally defrost for no apparent reason and the television in my bedroom, which I only bought a few months ago, has stopped working. But am I moaning about it? Er, yes, I am.

Yvette - I was reading your post yesterday, and thinking you were having an equally bad time, it is so frustrating not being physically capable of doing things like mopping up and having to wait until next day when my carer visits - she has been wonderful this week.

UPDATE - As I've typed this, the plumber has been and a new radiator is now on order, yipeee

Purplecatz, I'm so pleased the plumber has been and hope you don't have to wait too long for a new radiator.

Jockice, do you have an unexplained effect upon electrical goods?

My manager where I worked broke the photocopier every time he touched it!

Any time anyone in the department saw him going in the direction of the photocopier, they would always volunteer to do his copying for him as otherwise no-one could do any copying until the engineer came out the following day to fix it.

Also, whenever he sent anything by computer to the clerk's office to be printed off it never worked and the clerks would have to sort it out.

In the end, the clerks forbade him touching the photocopier and used to do it all for him.  Also, he was forbidden to sent anything by computer for printing and he had to ask one of them to do that for him too!!

My nasty suspicious mind wonders if your manager was using the office equivalent of breaking plates to avoid the washing up.

The ex daughter in law of a friend of mine continually caused electrical appliances to short circuit. They only ever bought dirt cheap stuff as it hardly ever lasted long. She also had to wear a pendant watch as any watch on her wrist would stop within hours, and usually not start again.

Oh no.  As manager he didn't have to do his own photocopying anyway.

He just didn't like to bother the clerks to photocopy one or two pieces of paper for him.  Especially if they were confidential reports etc.

"Jockice, do you have an unexplained effect upon electrical goods?"#

Not just on electrical goods. /On goods in general. I don't have a vacuum cleaner anymore (the woman who does my cleaning brings hers round) but literally every one I owned previously just broke after a short period of time.  We're talking about over half a dozen of the things. All of which worked perfecly when I got them.
