I would like Brian Cox to be my celebrity friend.

GammaGirl used to work with Brian and eat her lunch with him.  I am sooo envious.

And Dolly Parton.

I  love her music and find it cheers me up no end. I would love her to take me to the Tenessee mountains and introduce me to all her family.

I'm sure I can think of lots more when I have a bit more energy.

Who would you like as your celebrity friend(s)?

There's quite a few celebs that I'd quite like as mates - Stephen Fry, Brenda Blethyn, Joanna Lumley and Victoria Wood to name but four.

Aitch.

Speaking of Micheal Moore... well we might be speaking to him if things go to plan (big fat wink).

I would like to be best friends with... oh that has made me sad, the first person I thought of is dead.
Errrm, my best gay best friend would have to be Lee Pearson, I would love to share a yard with him.
Can I include MP's? Do they count as celebrities? Dame Anne and Kate Green. Oh, and how much fun could you have on a night out with Betty Boothroyd?

Stroll on, I have just realised that I dont know any celebrities... flippin heck this is ludicrous - is Sally Bercow a celebrity now? I would think being mates with her and her hubby would be a riot (possibly in more ways than one).

Right, got one.
Jo Brand.

Please tell me that counts!

I'm jealous of Gamma Girl too now lol

On a similar theme I'd love to be friends with Jem Stansfield and Dallas Campbell from Bang Goes The Theory- one because he makes amazing stuff and the other 'cos he's pretty smiley113

I'm trying not to just make this a list of blokes off the tv that I fancy so I'd like to meet...
Alyson Hannigan (Willow from Buffy the Vampire Slayer)
Pauley Perrette (Abby from NCIS)

I'm sure there are loads of others but I can't think of them off the top of my head smiley124

Does anyone else read those celebrity Q&As in the Guardian (and other papers) and think to themselves what answers they would give?

Ah, so it is just me then? Anyway, one of the questions is about your perfect dinner party line-up. Mine would be Henrik Larsson, Jerry Sadowitz, Stephen Pastel and ****** *****.

(The reason I've blanked out the last name is that, I realise that apart from Henrik, the middle two aren't that famous - although they are to me - and the last is only famous in an...er...specialised area. People on this site might be surprised if they googled her.  After all, I'm disabled therefore sweet and innocent.)

However if by chance I am ever asked by a genuine paper I will take a deep breath and use her real name. Even though it's not really her real name.

I would plump for Dawn French - it would be a laugh a minute!  As for male celebs I would like to have Julian Clary as a friend.

One person would certainly NOT be a friend of mine.  It is that rubbery-mouth Ed Milliband, who pinched his brother's role.  (Sorry if I am being political - I am sure someone will tap my nose if I am out of line......).  I do like Anne Widdicombe though, she is funny, wise, honest and I respect her.

I think that one person I would of liked to of  got to know was the wife's second cousin Harold Goodwin because after a career spanning over fifty years mixing with the rich and famous appearing in well over fifty films and loads of  television series countless stage productions he managed to maintain his dyed in the wool socialist principles together with his Yorkshire accent. And I bet he would have some tales to tell. Sadly he is no longer with us so I won't get the chance.

It would appear that Anne Widdicombe has a somewhat limited fan club  smiley110

Popcorn Duchess, no worries - this isn't the BBC, political talk is not verboten smiley109

I would like Nelson Mandela as one of my celebrity friends - I can relate to 'freedom fighters'

To have for dinner I would invite Andrew Neil, Jon Snow, Cameron, Miliband none as friends though as I feel they're all to cowardly to either ask the questions that the public want answers to or answer the questions asked. So far as Clegg goes he would only be there to serve the food, that's about all he's fit for.

Come to think about it, it must be a bit of a nightmare for waiters to find themselves faced with a politician and having asked the politician what they'd like to eat or drink finding after 20 minutes whilst they still don't know what the politician wants to eat or drink, they do know all about what a constituant of their's had to eat and drink a few weeks ago.
