Hi Everyone,

I need help again please.

I am trying to buy dvd's to replace my old video tapes. I've found the ones I want, that was easy to do, but how can I tell if they have subtitles? It's not mentioned!!

The Library has dvd's of old films and they have subtitles so do I just take a chance and hope?

xx

Hi Cindy,
I find imdb.com good for film info. Another imdb search i use is;

Hope this helps!

 Hi Cindy

on the case of most DVDs you will find a rectangular box which contains various pieces of important information.  If you look under the languages heading, it will tell you which language the audio and subtitles are in.   Most films now have a subtitles option

 Most DVDs these days are pretty good with having subtitles, especially if it's a popular movie.  Some of the older movies which have been put onto DVD that were originally on video may not, but again, so far I've found that most of the time someone has taken the time to subtitle them

Thank-you for replying to my problem.

Mentalas, I will certainly look at that website.

DevineDeb and CrazyKim, I know that it will tell you on the box but I can't get to the big shops so was trying to buy them online and that's where it doesn't tell you.

Thanks again. xx

 Hi Cindy
Sorry it was not clear before you were shopping online; if you are shopping on amazon you should see a link saying "learn more" near to each film's title, if you click that and scroll down to "reviews" there should be a "DVD description" section and that usually says whether or not sub-titles are included.
