I love music, so I figured I'd start a thread where people could share the songs they like
(seemed an appropriate smilie lol)

One of the ones that I got shown recently that I really liked was Through The Glass, by Stone Sour.

You can look at it here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GIzDsGyxsQM
(Film clip is kinda random lol)

My favourite line is "While you're outside looking in, describing what you see, remember what you're looking at is me"

Edited to add a link to the lyrics, for those who want to be able to read them :)

If I want to make myself ill (yeah right) then I might listen to the Rite of Spring by Stravinski.
If I want to feel jolly I listen to an early Queen album.
If I want to feel chilled then it's Vaughan Williams or Sibelius 5.

Kim,

It does not always work (I dont know why) but you use the You Tube link in the reply box toolbar or you get the embed code that is underneath the video at You Tube. Copy it, then click on HTML on the right of the reply box tool bar, click left with you mouse, then right click and paste. Next click Back on the top left of the toolbar, this brings you to the ordinary window. Next fingers crossed and click Post Reply :-)
I might get some screenshots done :-) if this works.
hmmf it show in the reply box but not when I post it, so I am going to try the toolbar option.

The song in this video helped bring me back from a bad time. I especially like the line ' Like a muppet with a drunken puppeteer'

click here for the written lyrics.

Can other people see the video?

This a song I can really relate to when I'm upset.  Somehow I find it calming

Stand in the Rain, by Superchick

Lyrics: http://www.metrolyrics.com/stand-in-the-rain-lyrics-superchick.html

>(And yes, I can see your video :) Good song)

((Oh, now it's on there twice! Help!))

I tussled out the second one from the html, I don't read or write html, but I can make it bend to my will sometime ;-)

Kim,

I think it might have been as simply as you clicked the add button twice, I just edited using the html I could. Deleting and starting over would have worked too. It is strange though that when I used Preview to check the video was showing it did not seem to be there and it took actually posting it to see yes it was there.

I think that was the problem, I didn't think it worked so I did it again, then when I posted it was there twice!

I dont listen to music much anymore, it seems to irritate me.

I used to listen to Weddings, Parties, Anything, an Australian band that I had a real life connection with.
Also some of the early stuff of The Men They Couldn't Hang.

Many, many years ago it was Ska, so I still get a bit lifted if I hear that again, but not lifted enough to go and search it out!

I still drive too fast if I have Meatloaf on...

Wonderful, poignant lyrics by Dougie Maclean and perfect singing from the late John Wright, whom I knew personally. This song makes me cry..

Tenuous claim to fame time - a cousin of mine was in an early line-up of this lot when they were called Catch 22. He also apparently appeared with them on their first TV appearance as TMTCH.

I didn't know this at the time - I wasn't really in touch with this part of the family for a long time - but I'd have dined out on it if I'd known.
