I'm always around late at night. I work as an e-tutor and it's the one time that I can tackle a string of emails and checking work without new work coming in and making it one step forward, two back.

My day cycle moves slightly forward every day. Over a few weeks, I go right round the clock, so I phase in and out of sync with daylight. Right now, I'm waking up at 1600 and going to sleep at 0700.

It is 02.40 am and I can't sleep.

Due to all the meds I've been asleep for most of the day and now I'm wide awake and want to play.

I've no chocolate either. smiley12

Just woken up after having had a horrible dream.  I think it's the after effects of anaesthetic.
Time for chocolates and watch something on iplayer until I feel able to drop off again!

I woke up at 5am because my neck is hurting, and hour and a half later, and even after Tramadol it is still hurting and my shoulder and back is thinking about joining in.

It is all my own fault because I had a good day yesterday, did some gardening, played with the dogs and spent time online. I probably should not be sat at my desk right now.

It is good to have a thread like this it makes me feel like I am not the only one.:-)

I've really enjoyed:
(Date Posted:06/07/2011 6:32 PM)

looking at the lurkers avatars.
They are so nice that they have made me smile.  thank you.

Now I think I have played enough with the computer - I've been over on the Ouch site being a bit straight with Damon and generally chatting.

When I have days off I tend to sleep in till about 11 to make up for the lack of sleep the rest of the week, but it's not really consistent enough sleep to probably actually count as more than 10 hours lol

hiya,

i'm awake tonight and quite bored. only got terrestrial tv and theres nothing on and my internet dongle wont let me watch iplayer or youtube videos cos it's sooooo slow tonight! cant wait to get my first pay packet and get broadband net and sky tv! (start my new job on friday, only working a few hours a week but very excited about having a little extra money!).

it's 1.13am now and i'm actually starting to feel a tad sleepy but when i try and sleep i just wake up again so i'm obviously not quite ready for it yet. taken extra amitriptyline so i technically should sleep soon, unless my sleep disorder decides to properly throw its toys out of its pram .smiley27

got games on my ipod that i usually play when i'm awake at night but they cant hold my attention tonight. normally i get a lot of enjoyment out of playing monopoly, ms pac man, tetris, reversi, pinball or backgammon but not tonight. damn! my upper back is quite sore tonight, got lots of muscle spasm and a sprained tendon or ligament behind the bottom of my left shoulderblade and it's rather sore tonight. may take some extra tramadol and pregabalin and drug myself to sleep in a little while if it doesnt happen naturally! smiley38

hope  i'm the only one awake this late at night and everyone else is having good dreams (well, those where it's night time.... unless it's nap time elsewhere in the world! smiley34  )

I'm up as well.
Tried going to bed and have given up.  So I'm back on the sofa feeling achy and uncomfortable.  One of those nights when I can't seem to settle.

~It's now 1.30am

It's raining

I'm fed up.

No chocolate.

Hi Pink,
I'm one of those people who can't keep chocolate in the house.  If it's there, I'll eat it.  Usually in one sitting!

I have no self control over chocolate, and although I crave it, I have to go out to buy it and unfortunately there's no where open at this time of the morning!

Oh well.  I'll have to wait until I go into town in the morning.  There's a lovely chocolate shop that I might just have to go in!

It's 3.45am and I haven't yet got to sleep.  Someone was playing loud music until 2.30am - I really hate inconsiderate people

Listening to radio 4 extra and hoping that sleep isn't too far away.

To say I had tummy ache would be a huge understatement, it is good to have a thread like this to see I am not the only one.
(((((((((((hugs))))))))))))

To the next late night lurker that ends up here feeling  poorly, in pain, simply can't sleep or all three.

If you can manage to post and pay the hug forward that would be smiley184 and if not that is okay and I hope you feel better soon.

RE:Late Night Lurkers

I wake up at all sorts of strange hours.
If I am wide awake I usually do some housework and have breakfast.  That can sooth my insides down and I sleep much more soundly after a bowl of gluten-free something-or-the-other with fruit if I have any in.

Yesterday I did an hours sewing and went back to bed around 5.00ish.

I blame the pills.

However it is quite normal to want to stay up an extra hour and have your days wander around the clock.  There is a theory that when humans evolved the earth was in a slightly different orbit and each day actually had 13 hours.  The same happens when they do experiments and put people in dark chambers for months on end with no contact with the outside world.  Their days expand to 13 hours and they get out of sync with the rest of the planet.  Self control about going to bed the same time every night and getting up at the same time sorts that out.

Just heard tawny-owl outside; I like our lovely owl friends.

Awake late (or early?) as usual..........

Also been looking at the Daily Hailitosis on line; I hate its edi-tick.

Re:Late Night Lurkers

I woke up at 4am.

I had been having a peculiar dream - about going on a school trip to Egypt.

No disrepect to Egypt but I couldn't go on holiday there as it is  far too hot for me.  And it is decades since I left school!

The aircraft was due to take off at 2.45am and my friend and I were running so late that we were going to miss the plane.

The taxi didn't turn up and then when it did it took us the wrong way and we got lost.

There is probably some pyschic reason/interpretation  for the dream.

I've read somewhere that dreams are the brain's way of tidying up, sorting out and storing the events of the previous day.

Wow, that is an odd dream! A bit too hot for me too (I can't decide whether the fire breathing dragon or steam from ears smily is more appropriate so I've given up and I'll use both lol)smiley76 smiley101

Dreams seem to be linked to all sorts of things; memory formation, emotions, learning from the past, planning for the future... anything your brain feels like really smiley113

My sleeping patterns seem to be all over the place at the moment, and it's becoming a right nuisance.
So I'm laying on the sofa with the dog and listening to the wind in the trees.  It's really blustery and feeling quite autumnal.  My husband brought me home some conkers today (or bonkers as our granddaughter insists on calling them!) as I love that bright shiny look and feel they have when they are straight out of their cases.

I'm lurking tonight.  Or this morning rather.  1.30am

As my operation has been brought forward by a day I'm catching up with all the things I would have done tomorrow.

My left hand will be in a sling for three days so if I don't get stuff done now - like sewing - they won't get done for ages.

And I'll only fret if things are left which need doing.

I'm too wired up to sleep anyway with the excitment of getting my hand done.  It will be absolutely wonderful to be out of pain.  Bliss!!
