Ebs had his cardio scan today.  Plus an abdomen scan.  Everything looked good, which is a huge relief.

But, the Vet thinks he *may* have chronic pancreatitis as it fits all his symptoms.  So it is back to our own vet later this week for another blood test for pancreatitis.

However, she said that only 70% of blood tests show pancreatitis - the other 30% don't show it even though the cat *does* have pancreatitis.

I have been so worried and low this last couple of days.  I was dreading the scan in case it showed something dreadful - losing weight and lethargy are also symptoms of a tumour - so I'm relieved that the results were so good.

I'm not very pleased with my own vet though, for worrying me about the heart disease.  At least with the scan it has been ruled out but Ebs is back to square one again.

When Ebs was weighed today, although is he still underweight, he had put some weight back on thank goodness, so the new diet I put him on about a month ago is working (low protein and high fat).

He is having a snooze on the cat bed on the desk, so he has forgiven me - I thought he might be really cross with me but he has been  a real sweetie.

Thank you all so much for your support.  It is so good that so many of us have pet companions as we understand how much we each love our pets and how dreadful it is when they are unwell.

P.S. Forgot to post how bald Ebs is now looking!  All his tummy and sides and underneath his front legs have been shaved.

He is going to have a real cold 'underneath' until his fur grows back!!

It is a good job there is no snow at the moment.

If there was, I'd have to give him a cat litter tray indoors!

Ilovepink, I just hope Ebby will have grown some fur back by then!!

Poor old Ebby!

Our cat has the luxury of two indoor litter trays. Now that her brother has gone, she seems to feel it is her duty to make sure they are both used. So, she will wee in one, then go to the other for a poo ...

smiley109 lol @ Hurtyback's cat, well you wouldn't want the place to smell of cat litter would you?!

Yvette, I really hope they've worked out what the problem is (even if it's just to stop you worrying!) and I hope Ebs doesn't get too cold, perhaps a bit of smiley6 is required smiley105

Both cats are off to the vet today. Ebs for another blood test. Ivy for her acne and ear mites.

If it isn't me at the doctor or dentist, it is now these two.

There is an old saying that pet owners become like their pets, but I think mine are becoming like me because of all their health problems. smiley98

Although I'm not as exhausted as I was on Wednesday and yesterday (I had to spend most of both days in bed), I'm really down.

It could be the worry about Ebby but I feel down in general.  Really out of sorts and miserable.

Hopefully, this afternoon I'll have better news.

I am so very grateful to everyone for their support.   I've really needed you all.   Thank you.

2 each for you and the cats smiley120

I hope you've managed to get some answers and a sensible care plan out of the vet today, don't forget to take the time you need to look after yourself (easier said than done, I know smiley99)

Thank you so much Hurty and Noisy.

Ebbsy websy had another blood sample taken for two tests and the results will come back Tuesday.  The Vet said she will ring me in the afternoon or early evening (it depends upon how busy they are) and we can go from there.

She said I could start him on a low residue diet but they didn't have it in stock, so I've ordered it online.

They will both have to have the same diet as it is almost impossible to feed them in separate rooms.  And even if Eb's food tastes vile, Ivy would want to eat it just because it is his and she won't want to miss out!!

Ive's ears had a good check and the Vet looked at some of the excudate under the microscope. There are no mites remaining but there is a lot of dirt.  She has given me a bottle of antibiotic ear drops to put in twice a day until they are clean again.

Ive's chin has a different bottle of the same antibiotic to wipe the acne on her chin with twice a day too.  Poor girl.

As a treat I bought them some catnip.  Ive loves it but Ebs isn't so bothered.

Thank you ilovepinkandpurple.

The cats are both very forgiving and I feel much better today than I was as I had a good sleep last night.

It is amazing, the difference a good sleep makes.

Still no news.

Only of Ebby's blood results came back yesterday and the Vet cannot fully interpret it until the second comes back so hopefully, I'll know more this afternoon.

The low residue food arrived yesterday and Ebs loved it.

To feed him separately though, I'm having to feed him on my computer table or Ivy gets her nose in his dish!
