My two cats are not to be outdone by each other.
Ebs is off to the feline cardic specialist next week, so Ivy has had to go to the vet today too.
She has feline acne. Yes, feline acne. Apparently it can be caused by plastic bowls, over-active sebaceous glands, allergy, but territorial marking behavior of cats by rubbing their chin and face against objects could be one of the main reasons.
My two eat from ceramic saucers and drink out of ceramic bowls, so it can't be that. They have dry food too, so it can't be food getting in her fur (she short haired anyway).
Poor girl has had to have the 'pustules' unblocked and her chin washed with antiseptic and have an antibiotic injection. She now has to have her chin washed once a day with liquid Savlon. If it isn't any better in five days she has to go back for more treatment.
She was so brave because she had her ears checked and washed out too. She has to have her ears washed out twice a week now with CleanAural as it looks as if the mites have gone and this will make sure.
Ivy was so good the vet said she was *awesome*.
