Did you all see the excerpts from the Boston Red Sox game on Saturday? There was a very moving video tribute and
David Ortiz said this is our Beep Beep City !!! The People cheered . David just recently became a US citizen and he
is very patriotic !!!

And so cool that Neil Diamond was there in person to sing the Red Sox song,  Sweet Caroline.

I cried. It was beautiful.

Thanks for posting these stories, Chuck !  Very interesting.

Speaking of guns, no surprise that the Boston terrorists did not have gun licenses for their shootout with police that left
one officer dead and another in  Critical condition. Police say the youngest one would not be old enough for a gun license
as the age for handgun purchase and gun license in MA is 21. And the oldest one would have probably be denied a license
because of the domestic violence assault against him.

Their friends and neighbors and police are saying they probably got the guns at a gun show or out of state gun show
where no background checks are required.

It is a rough virus.  I had it too and it takes a while to recover from.

It is so sad and tragic.  Our thoughts and prayers are with the those injured in Boston and

Texas and for the families who lost loved ones.

The Republicans seem bound and determined to do nothing and accomplish nothing. The President is offering a budget , proposals, compromises and the Republicans keep saying No.

( by the way, Cheryl is trying to recover from a bad case of the flu and she said she wanted to apologize for her absence
from this forum this week but she got a really bad case of the flu )

The Newtown Parents are in DC meeting with lawmakers and telling their stories. They are advocating for universal
background checks. It is a real possibility as Republicans failed in their attempt to filibuster plus some Republicans
are joining with Democrats now including Senator Pat Toomey of PA.

Thanks for posting this link , Chuck.

The Republicans always whine about the deficits and the public debt and spending, yet the real problem is the
private debt. Also, where were these same whiners when President Bush and the Republican House and Senate were
spending land spending and spending.

Pennsylvania Governor Tom Corbett (R) announced last month that he would reject Medicaid expansion -- a key provision of President Barack Obama's health care reform law that would have made health care available to many more of the state's poorest residents.

A new study has found that Corbett's decision might end up costing the state hundreds of millions of dollars.

Expanding Medicaid in Pennsylvania would have increased the annual amount of money the state receives from the federal government by around $2 billion, adding about $200 million in state revenue every year, according to a new study by the RAND Corporation, the nation's largest independent health policy research program.

The study's findings contradict remarks made by the governor during his budget address last month when he said that “without serious reforms, [Medicaid expansion] would be financially unsustainable for the taxpayers."

Medicaid expansion, which the Supreme Court ruled states could opt in or out of, would increase medical coverage to families that earn up to 138 percent of the federal poverty level. Many Republican governors have opposed the measure.

Had Pennsylvania opted into Medicaid expansion, the state would have received around $6 billion in federal funding for health care programs in 2014, according to the study. That's $2 billion more than it will receive without expanding Medicaid. The increase in funding would have added 35,000 jobs and provided a $3 billion boost in economic activity, according to the study.

“This is money that is coming into the state that wouldn’t otherwise,” RAND mathematician and lead study author Carter Price told The Huffington Post. “There are certainly substantive benefits, in that you have more people covered, more revenue coming in the state and more jobs.”

Many Republicans and Tbaggers also have Obama Derangement Syndrome.

The President could say Good Morning and they disagree with him and say ..Bad Morning. smiley11

He can say ..Have a Nice Day and they find fault. smiley9

That  Liberal Media is just an invention of the right wing. It is such a myth.  All anyone has to do it watch a daily briefing of the White House Press or most cable channels during the day and read the newspapers to see it is completely false.

I thought it was his best State of the Union address so far. It was very good.

They talk family values but often, it is just talk.  It would be different if these Republicans did not campaign on
family values and talk about family values constantly.  It is pure Hypocrisy.

I think it is more than his health causing him to resign.  It could be all the pressure he is facing over the child abuse scandals.

Republicans keep manufacturing a  new crisis every week or so. It is always something with them that is not a crisis but
they make into a crisis by being so obstinate.  The President has the highest approval numbers in recent polling, the highest in 3
years since the death of Bin Laden. That clearly shows the majority of American support the President's proposals.

Republicans do not realize that elections have consequences and the American people have spoken. They do not like the
GOP plans and proposals and obstructionism. That is also clearly shown in several polls conducted this week.

A book written by one of the victims also hurts Corbett as he talks in detail and provides evidence of how Corbett
sat on this case and promised him an arrest that never came under his watch. The kid was nearly suicidal over this and he
went through hell and not just as a victim of child sexual abuse but how he was treated by school officials and AG Corbett!
